Dear Ma'am~

My name is Kate (Katy) Grimswold, and I live in Denver, Colorado, with my husband, Doc (Don), and our brood of sixteen, all of them adopted. I happened to see your book ("...And The Miracles Continue"), and I felt compelled to write to you; so---here I am! :)

Our children are named in order of appearance: Reginald Marcus (17, adopted from India), Heather Lindsay (16, adopted from Guatemala), Ellie (Ellen) Susana (14, adopted from Guatemala), Horace Peter (he goes by Peter; he is 13, and he came to us from Poland), the twins Kessie Mae and Kossie Marie (11; they came to us from the Bronx, in New York City), Jorge' Michael (11; he is from Argentina), Wendie 'Lissa (10, adopted from New Jersey), Reesie Gabriella (10, adopted from Ohio), Hannah Grace (9, adopted from Arkansas), Tinsley (Tin) Bryant (8, adopted from Kentucky), Gage Timothy (7, adopted from Korea), Georgina Reanne (6, adopted from Korea), Elsie Mee Patricia (5, adopted from China), Huynh Park Choi (5, adopted from Vietnam), and finally (but certainly NOT least) four-year-old Tristan Kente, who came to us a year ago from Africa.

All, I am happy to say, are healthy, but Tristan DOES have cerebral palsy that requires him to use a wheelchair; but he is still a joyful child, and he never lets anything get him down. He always wears a smile on his face, and life to him is a big adventure!

We live in Denver, as I said earlier. My husband, Don, is a building contractor, and I am a stay-at-home mom as well as a certified homeschooling instructor. My kids do not go to public school; I feel I can give them a much better education here at home, and so far, it's been working.

We are staunch Christians, and church and faith is very important to us. We stress to the children that Christ should be first in all that they do or say, and we do not approve of television or the Internet unless it meets our approval first. Only then can they watch tv or access the computer.

We go to the Church of God here in Denver, and we teach the children about faith and all the goodness that God has to offer. It seems that your book fills that bill because you seem to be a God-fearing Christian woman yourself. I have read your book, "...And The Miracles Continue", and it is evident that your writing is God-given, that you write through Him. It is very remarkable to see, and I felt blessed upon reading your inspiring story. Maybe you ought to consider writing a sequel, perhaps (just a suggestion).

How is the weather there? Is it spring there? Here I am afraid it is winter: as I write this on the computer while the children do their SSR (Silent Sustained Reading) lessons and take notes and look out the window, I see that it is snowing quite heavily. Temps are only in the 30's here, and we may get several inches of snow, according to the local newscasts. I love Denver, but I am getting tired of the snow! I want to see some spring sunshine and flowers here; we have had a bad winter here in Colorado!

Well, I know you are probably busy with your own brood (fifty three children?? I canNOT imagine being the parent to THAT many!! WOW! You really ARE a "SuperFamily"!), so I will let you go now. I hope to hear from you. Please write to me soon; I would like to know how your family came into being or if I could get a copy of your book. (The copy of your book that I read was at the local public library; I don't have my own copy.) Thanks for listening!
