Louisiana writes to her friend, Audrey, while her kids are at school. She is enjoying the peace and quiet.

Dear Audrey and Family~
I know it has been a rough go for you guys, and I am wondering how you are doing, especially since it has been one year since Hurricane Katrina came calling.
How are Susie, Maria, and Lacey? I think of them (and of you) often, and I have been praying for you. you are still on the prayer boards at our church; we pray for you any chance we get!
We are doing well: getting ready for our upcoming cruise to Alaska (next week, in fact!) and tomorrow, our newest child to be, Gabriel Abrahiam, arrives from Israel! We have been learning (basic) Hebrew, so we can communicate (just in case he doesn't speak English!). We are so excited at the present time we can't stand it!
The children are well, but it seems that Johnny has a bad case of poison ivy. We found out that he is highly allergic. In fact, he is so allergic he can be downwind of it, not even near the stuff, and he'll break out in itchy, oozy, angry red pimples from head to toe! He has been miserable, and it is all we can do to keep him covered in Calomine lotion and to keep him from scratching!
Ronee' has had a great summer healthwise, but last month, she sprained her ankle and had to resort to using her crutches for a few weeks. Once she got off her crutches and her ankle healed, she proved to be unstoppable: now we can't keep up with her! LOL Yesterday she hadd a mild flare up of her JRA, but she appears to be over the worst of it, thank goodness! :)

Excellent write Karen! Everything seems to be progressing nicely, except for poor Johnny's poison Ivy. I had it (when they called it the seven year itch) and yes for seven years in a row. Can't bear to think of it, calamine lotion was my best friend;-)
