Dear Louie~
I don't know if I could have made it this far without your encouragement, prayers, and support during these recent dark days. For that, all I can say is this: thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Oh, Micah, Rebekkah, and the rest of our family have our blue days where all we can do is cry (today is one of them; the kids are going trick or treating tonight at the church, and I can't help but think that Daniella will be missing out on the fun; it breaks my heart!); crying is not going to bring Daniella back. No prayer in the world can do that either (although it would be nice!). Daniella is with Christ, in Heaven, and all we can do is rejoice in her safety, that one day we will be reunited again.
Today I went into Daniella's room and actually held my emotions in check. It is as it was on the day she was taken from us; as I walked around, touching her toys, her unmade bed, touching her furniture, holding her clothes to my face, and reminiesced (spelling?), tears threatened to spill, but I fought them back. I sat on her bed, looked at her pictures, and God gave me a word upon my spirit that all was well, that He was still with me. It felt as though He put His Arm around me (a "Heavenly Hug"); I immediately felt all warm and peaceful inside, and I was comforted.
Rebekkah is trying to busy herself with her ballet dancing. She is try9ing to put the whole mess behind her, trying to reclaim her life; yet at night, I often hear her crying in bed. It breaks my heart. I know she misses her little sister terribly (as we all do).
Micah has gone back to work, and he has thrown himself into his duties full throttle. He is glad to be working again, and I am glad to see him getting out of the house! :)
People still look at us, not sure as to what they can say. They offer us sympathy wishes. They know of Daniella's kidnapping/murder. I know they mean well, but it all it does is open old wounds, and we are once again left in sadness. It is a very awkward situation to be in.
When you lost your children, Louie, did people treat you like this? How did you handle it? How did you handle the endless (or rude) questions, the stares, the comments? I'm asking you this because it's totally foreign to me, and I don't like being in this predicament!
Well, Louie, the phone is ringing, plus Daniel is crying. Take care, and thanks again for everything you've done for us these past few weeks! You are truly an Angel sent from God! :)
