     Johnny fires off a quick letter prior to going to bed for the night.

Monday, April 2, 2007, 9:30 p.m., D.S.T., Nashville, Tennessee~


Dear Rebekkah Rachel~


Johnny here. I am writing you a quickie letter before going to bed for the night. I have already had all my mds, and I am hooked up to my oxygen. I am lying in bed, on my side, writing this down on my laptop to you.


I am still feeling a bit weakened, but it's no worse. Still, it is scary to know that I am not getting any better. The only plus side is that my seizure medication is working; I haven't had a seizure now in nearly two weeks, which for me is a miracle. I usually have one every few days, or anywhere from two to five a week. Not good!


I am dealing with the fact that you'll never be able to dance again, or walk again, that you are a quadriplegic. I know dancing was one of your passions. I am glad that you are dealing with it as best as you can, but as for me, I am having a much harder time of it. Just because some stupid punks decided to have a "little fun", and shoot you and Maddie upon returning home from church. I have a very hard time trying to forgive the shooter for what he did to you and your sister.


How is the weather there? Here it was beautiful today: bright sunny skies and temps in the seventies to near eighty degrees. Just perfect. I got to sit in my chair and enjoy the sun; it felt good on my body! :) I hope the weather there is as nice as it was here today!


We did have some storms a few days back; no tornadoes, thank goodness, but we did have some nasty storms blow on through here: lots of wind, heavy rain, severe lightning. I was enjoying the natural display of God's power through the storms, but Ronee' was not happy: she cried most of the day; she does not like storms all that well!


We are getting ready for our church cantata. The rehearsals are going well enough, but I forgot my lines, and I felt embarrassed. I hate it when my hearing aids don't work right; I think that was what happened; I didn't hear the entire line, and I got mixed up.


Well, Rebekkah, I know this is short, but I am going to go to sleep now. I have several doctor's appointments tomorrow, plus physical therapy. UGH. I hate physical therapy; it's a drag!


God bless and am looking forward to your next letter! Thanks again for writing to me and cheering me up; it worked!
