Ronee' tries to comfort a hurting friend.

Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 8:19 p.m, D.S.T., Nashville, Tennessee~

Dear Rebekkah Rachel~

Hey! How goes it? I hope you are okay. I saw you today while you were visiting my school, and you have me worried. What is going on with you? Why won't you talk to me? Have I done something wrong or hurt you in any way? If so, I am truly sorry; I really am!

I am sorry if I haven't been over lately; between school and performing, I haven't been around as much as I should be. I perform just about every weekend during the spring and summer, or about every weekend, or if I am not performing, I'm trying do do my homework or catching up on (lost) sleep. Or I have auditions to go to. In fact, speaking of auditions, I have one coming up next week: I'm trying out for the TV show "America's Got Talent".

(I tried out last year to get onto the show, but got sick during the audition: I threw up all over the stage. Needless to say, I didn't make it. :) ) Some girl named Taylor Ware did; she is a young yodeling sensation, and she is really good. (Nearly won it, too. I think she's from Jackson, Tennessee, which is close to Nashville.)

We'll see how I'll do this year. I plan on singing a Loretta Lynn song. What song, I'm not sure yet. I have narrowed it down to four songs: "You Ain't Woman Enough (To Take My Man)", "Fist City", "Coal Miner's Daughter", and "Love Is The Foundation".

Wish me luck; I'm starting to get really nervous!! :P

Well, I have been praying hard for y'all (and for Susie). I wish I knew what to say (or do) regarding your situation(s). I knew Susie had to have cut herself on purpose. I know a girl at my school who is a cutter; she is going through some horrible things in her life, and she's always trying to kill herself or her hands are always covered in bandages. I've gotten depressed myself about different things, but I've never tried to kill myself (nor would I ever want to). I love life too much, I have too much to live for, and I've learned to lean on the One who sustains me: Jesus Christ. He's the One whose gotten me through some of the worst things imaginable.

Well, I've gotta' go now, have to go to bed. Have school tomorrow, as I know you do. Maybe I'll see you sometime tomorrow after school. I'll write to you in a day or so before this upcoming weekend: more performing, and the Children's Miracle Network telethon's coming up fast. Take care, my (((Dear Friend))), and know I love you  so much! You're ever in my prayers!

Luv, your girlfriend, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux. :( >tears!<

What a powerful offerin my friend, my daughter had a friend who cut herself, as it turned out she too had much going on in her homelife and social life, she was also diagnosed with bi-polar disorder. She was a mess for a long time, and finally found some answers through much prayer, therapy, medication, and lots of love and understanding. Great write about a topic that many teens and young kids can relate to. Even in the first grade I have witnessed children who inflict pain upon themselves because they are angry with their lives, they will often times bite or pinch themselves and sometimes punch the wall or desk to hurt their fists! Sad what many of our young people are going through, we probably don't know the half of it! Write on my friend!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
