A mother writes about her little boy, who has cancer, with the help of a translator. The mother doesn't speak much in the way of English.
My name Maria. Maria Jiminez. We live in Mexico. We visiting familia here in Los Estatos Unitos. They live here--Tennessee.
Mi esposo, Rico, and me, we have un hijo, a hijo name Perfecto. Perfecto Eleazar. Perfecto four year old, such a beautiful little boy.
Alas, he also very sick. He have cancer. He dying. He got cancer last year, it start in his spine; it spread throughout his body. It really sad because he suffering so much.
Perfecto until last year was a healthy, happy boy. He play all the time with his cousins, his tios, his tias, his abeulo, his abuela. He love to play ball, have us read los libros to him, eat, dance, jump on trampoline (with our watching eyes, of course, so he not get hurt).
Then came time when he start getting bad pains in espalda, it so bad he couldn't walk, he cry all the time. We take him to doctor, doctor admit him to hospital, where he have tests. Tests say he have cancer; news very bad, it make us all cry.
Seems that's all we done ever since: cry. Me es muy triste. Me hijo so sick, nothing mucho can be done to help him get better. He so weak now, he can't eat without tube in nose, Now cancer all over, doctors no hold out much hope for him.
We try to be happy, be positive, but news continue to be bad. We stay here at hospital with Perfecto, we afraid to leave him in case he should die. We want to be with him when he die; we don't want him to be alone.
We meet other people here, Carole and Bob, Grant and Helga, they have ninos in hospital here. They not doing too good either. It's very sad.
I wish we could be back--Mexico. It too frio (cold) here. I freeze, feel like big block of ice. Es no bueno! Yet Perfecto too sick to travel, so we here now for time being.
I will write here more next time. Please forgive if me Ingles no bueno. Espanol me language primero. I go now, nurse calling me. Maybe she need me to hold Perfecto while he get another blood test, oh, Lord, I hate hearing him scream again!

Y entonces para agregar insulto a la herida, ellos nos llaman greasers
El sueño de una América bondadosa se despierta en una deshumanizada niebla de realidad.
Then, to add insult to the pain, they call us greasers, and the dream about a generous America wakes up on a dehumanized fog of reality.
Very sad, a young child has to suffer such pain and not old enough to understand the cruelity of it. We all understand pain as it is just one language and hurts.
A poignant story about letting go of a narcissist in your life. Have you ever been attacked FULL force by a narcissist? It's the closest thing to being stabbed over and over in the back.
