Kendric Mitchell Gale is a very brave little boy to all who know him, especially to his family.

Kendric was born three months premature, weighing less than two pounds at the time of his birth.  He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of one-and-a-half; now at the age of six, going on seven, he has graduated from using a walker to walking with crutches and/or leg braces.

Other than his inability to walk without help, Kendric is perfectly healthy: a very active, happy-natured boy who loves nothing more than to laugh or enjoy life to its fullest.

Some of Kendric's interests include watching "The Wizard of Oz" (his favorite movie) on his DVD player, playing electronic hand-held or video games, playing with his friends during recess at school (or on weekends), drawing, playing on the Challenger Little League team for kids with special needs, and swimming at the community pool during the summer (or sledding down the biggest hill in winter).

Kendric is the youngest of four in his family: besides his parents, Jack and Glinda, he has an older sister, eight-year-old Dorothy Ann. In addition, he has a little Cairn terrier named "Toto".

As you can imagine, his family are big fans of the book "Wizard Of Oz", which probably explains his love for the series of books by L. Frank Baum, and the movie bearing the same name.

Kendric would like to be a children's book author; if not, he'd like to be an artist or even an actor. He loves to sing, perform during his school's special presentations. His favorite play to perform in is no surprise: "The Wizard of Oz"! (In the play he's played the Tin Man and the Scarecrow; this year he'd like to try out for the coveted role of the Wizard.)

Kendric is a sweet-natured little boy with a huge imagination, a gigantic personality. Everyone he meets loves him; he loves them right back. 

Sometimes Kendric is teased by other kids; however it isn't long before he endears himself to them, especially when he imitates the Cowardly Lion. He does a good job, according to his teachers and family.

If there's anything Kendric would like in life, it would be for people to accept him as he is, learn to see past his crutches, braces, or wheelchair (which he uses at school, as it's easier for him). They would like for them to see his sense of humor, his talents as a writer, actor, and singer, as well as his sharp comedic wit.

That's another thing Kendric would like to be: a stand up comic.
