A little boy continues to battle for life.

Little Trinh continues to hang on by a tenuous thread--and that thread keeps threatening to unravel.

Doctors say he's suffered brain damage; there's no telling whether he will ever fully recover.  He could very well do so (we've been surprised before), yet he may remain comatose--or severely disabled.  Who's to say.

The seizures have been staved off (for now); he's recovering from yet another round of pneumonia.  His condition has improved somewhat ("serious" instead of "critical" or "grave"), but his outlook is uncertain at best.

I look at the little guy in the bed, and I get angry.  Good and angry.  I can't imagine anyone doing this to their very own child.  Are they that stupid, or don't they want to take responsibility?

As a parent, I will never understand the reasoning behind these parent's barbaric actions towards their little boy.

The parents have not come by to see their son; it's like they've disappeared off the face of the earth.  It's getting to the point to where we wonder what's going to happen to him when he recovers, if he recovers.

Well, Trinh's alarm is going off; have to see what's going on.  Maybe it's another false alarm; those darned EKG leads keep popping off for some reason.  Let's hope it's the latter and not another danged Code Blue!!

I will write in here (I or one of my fellow nurses), and we'll keep you abreast of little Trinh's prognosis/recovery.  Let's hope there's better news next time!!

It's going to take nothing but a miracle for him to come out of this!!

Everybody needs somebody to care. You've painted a gloomy picture of parents who don't care. Our society has reached a sad state of affairs when people turn away and against their own children. Good write.

The police around here found a four years child that had been hold inside a windowless little room for four days with little food and less water. His wardens were his parents.
Should say more?

Karen,

How can some call themselves, "Parents," is beyond me - heartbreaking! Those who did this to their little boy should not be allowed to visit - they should be UNDER the jail. :(

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

It breaks my heart to think that a parent can walk away from a child when they need the love and support the most from the ones they are suppose t be able to depend on with unconditional love, I pray that Trinh's health improves. Thank you for sharing Karen.

Newfie Hugs are on the way, Rose
