Dear Journal~

Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux here.  Just woke up *yawnn* not even ten minutes ago.  Good morning! :)

Hard to believe that in only a few short days, August will be upon us.  Summer is most definitely in full swing here; it's been hot.  Thank God for swimming pools or central air conditioning! :)  As long as the power holds out, I will be okay; if it goes out, I may have a little problem....LOL

And in September school will start.  I will be entering the tenth grade as a sophomore.  Wow!! Seems like only yesterday I was in elementary school; where does the time go????

The "back-to-school" sales are starting; will have to get new school supplies and new clothes soon.  I always like to look good when I start school; I have my reputation; don't want to start school by lookin' like a scuzzball!!  That would NOT be good!! LOL

And next month it will be LeCajun.  We're going to LeCajun in late August; it's a huge Cajun music festival there, and it's been touted as "The Cajun Grammys".  It's a big deal in Cajun musicdom; all the Cajun greats (and its brightest, newest stars) are there, and it's always a blast! :)  I am lookin' forward to that! :)

I'll be performin' there, so don't you worry.  LOL

We were going to go to Cedar Point in Ohio, but it looks like that trip went belly up.  Too expensive, for one thing, even with group rate.  Air fare and gas prices are on the up and up; until they fall, it looks like we won't be doing as much traveling as we would like.  At least we have LeCajun to look forward to!! :)

I would have loved to have gotten to the Point again, ride those roller coasters, try out the newest scream machine, "Maverick", hear it's a lot of fun!  Oh, well.  At least I can practice my Cajun music/singing!!

Have been watching AGT, and there have been some amazing acts on there.  My favorite so far has been this little four year old girl, Kaitlyn Ashley Maher, who sang "Somewhere Out There".  I also loved little nine-year-old David Militello, who has autism; he sang "Ben" by Michael Jackson.  He made it to the next round too.  Let's see how far both Kaitlyn or David get in the semis; they may not because there are some powerhouse talent on there, there's no way two little kids with (fairly) limited singing skills will have a chance to advance--short of a miracle, that is!!

No "Lazylegz" type acts this year, but it's nice to see people with disabilities (David Militello) being represented! :)  Gives me and other people with disabilities a sense of hope, ya know?? :)

No, I didn't make it, but next year, I'm auditioning for "American Idol"! LOL  Let's see how I do then!! :{ (nervous) LOL

Maman won't let me join You Tube, but I am on MySpace.  I just have to be reaaaaaaaaallllllllllllly careful; lots of nuts out there in cyberspace.  Sad!  I have my own page, even  have some of my music on there.  All the more ops to get my music noticed, ya know??  I'm really into this singing stuff; I want to be a big star, but I am trying to be realistic here.  It's a hard life, show biz!!  It takes a lot to make it, especially nowadays!!

Ever since Sunday two weeks ago, people have been coming up to me, saying how blessed they were when they heard my testimony.  Maman gave hers this past Sunday; she did a wonderful job.  People were in tears by the time she was through, including myself.  I cry at the drop of a hat; it doesn't take much for me to get the ol' waterworks flowin'!  I can hear a song or see a movie, or even a commercial, and right away I start bawlin'!! It's embarrassing!!

Well, I am going to get my breakfast, take my meds, then decide what I am going to do once my brain becomes more awake.  I will write in here again, probably before we leave for Louisiana.  Until then, take care, and God bless; this is your Cajun friend signin' outta here!  C ya!
