I am 13 years old, and I am one who does NOT like school. I especially don't like the kids picking on me or picking on my disabled brothers and sisters, or all of the extra homework that I had to do.
I DID manage to pass my grade; I will be in the 8th grade come September of this year. THAT, I can be thankful of!...
I attend Donelson Junior High here in Nashville, Tennessee, and my teacher WAS Mr. Nigel Pratt (he was okay, but he WAS rather strict to SOME of the kids). Next year my teacher will be--it's anybody's guess right now.
But what I loathed most about school were a lot of the kids who went to my school. They were more concerned about "fitting in" to a certain "group" or fashion or the latest rock hits on the radio rather than trying to be nice to those kids who didn't have a lot of friends or those kids who didn't fit in (like me).
And if they DID notice those kids who "didn't fit in", they only managed to pick on them because of where they came from, their family or home situation, because they happened to be handicapped, or were heavier (or skinnier) than average. (I am one of the skinny kids; let's face it: I look like a SURF BOARD!!)
It doesn't help matters any that I also happen to be rather short for my age. At the age of 13 I look more like the age of 10 or 11. Sure, I have breasts, and the beginnings of a woman's figure, but it's nothing to write home or shout about.
Hence, why I look more like a surf board than a typical teenaged girl. It also doesn't help that some younger kids (some as young as 8 or 9) have more in the way of boobs or hips than I do!
That is so sad when a 9-YEAR-OLD kid looks older than me, a 13-YEAR-OLD!!
And some of the kids really gave me grief, namely Cindi Lou Dawson, Amber Ackbourne, Peter Blades, Ruben Rivera, or Heather DeLuise. All are very popular (like Cindi and Amber, also Heather; they are all rich and wear the latest fashions; and they really think they are hot stuff), and others, like Ruben and Pete, are JUST PLAIN OBNOXIOUS!! I can't stand obnoxious or snooty people!!
I got into more fights with these kids...
And I spent more time in detention or in the principal's office for punching a kid's lights out or giving them a shiner that wouldn't quit...
I am NOT a bad kid, but I WILL fight back if I feel my honor is being threatened, and I WILL fight back if ANYONE disses me or my family!! It's only human nature for a kid to defend what she strongly believes in or what she thinks is right!!
But mommy and daddy are both fed up with my fighting; they say if I don't shape up I may have to go to military school for delinquent teens.
I hope not, but anything has GOT to be better than what I faced each and every day at junior high....
