Dear Journal~

A very happy, yet tired Ronee' here.  Hope this finds y'all well:  me, I'm doing great!  No voice, but still doing great!

Our city had its first annual Christmas fireworks along with the annual parade/lighting of the tree; the fireworks culminated the event.  Judging from the reaction of the crowd, I think it will be continued; the crowd went nutz when the fireworks ended!  Red, green, white, blue, purple:  all colors of the rainbow!

It wasn't that long (maybe 10 minutes, max), but oh, my:  it was specTACular!!  And NOISY!!  LOL

Before the parade/fireworks, there was musical entertainment.  I sang early on, I sang "O Holy Night."  I love that song!  :)

No big acts; it was all local enteratainment.  Sorry to disappoint you, but that's how it was, folks.  We still had a very good time, nevertheless.

The parade lasted a good two hours.  Lights on all floats, even on people, horses, dogs, vehicles, and a cat!!  LOL (Not mine; "Cajun" would have probably bolted from all the crowds, noises, confusion! LOL)  The kitty was cute, what we could see of it.  We could hear it meowing; that's how we came to know that there was a cat in the parade!  LOL  Poor baby!

I was in the parade, as was Johnny, Gemini, and a bunch of my other brothers and sisters (Gemini twirled her batons; we rode our church's float).  It was neat seeing all the people lined up on the sides of the street, waving to them, wishing them a merry Christmas, throwing candy, other goodies to them!

Santa Claus was on the last float; he almost fell off when the driver of the float stopped suddenly.  He hung on, though.  (Good thing, too!  Not good if Santa ends up getting hurt!)

After the parade, they had the tree lighting; Jodie was chosen to flip the switch.  She only had to hit it five times before the electrical connection was made.  She thought it was hilarious; she laughed and laughed and LAUGHED!!  And then:  the F I R E W O R K S!!  *BOOM!!*

So that was our city's celebration.  It was fun, as you can see.  We all yelled our socks off at the parade and during the fireworks.  There are probably going to be a lot of hoarse peoople afoot today; I know I am!  I won't be singing (much) today at church, for true !  LOL

Well, gon' put this to bed, where I should be.  So goodnight!  (Or good morning, whatever the case may be!  LOL)
