Am trying to get through this Christmas season without falling apart. Don't feel very Christmas-y; you'll see why as you read. Pray for me.
Suddenly this Christmas seems empty. We don't have our big, strong daddy to call us, wish us a happy Christmas Day. Tomorrow we are also going to spend a good part of the day helping out at our local restaurant, helping the servers roll silverware.
We figure that staying busy will be the best thing for us. We need to stay busy to keep from thinking about daddy, not having our family with us. At least we have each other; however, we are facing our first Christmas without our father in our lives.
We do good some days; on other days, it is all we can do to keep from crying. Tomorrow will probably be one of those days. But then again, you never know. It may be one of the best days we have had in a long time; you don't know what will happen, what kind of blessings that may come our way.
Christmas is a day often full of surprises or miracles; we look to the Lord for strength, guidance. He is our pilot, our provider, our comforter, our saviour. As long as we have the Lord in our lives, why even be sad? We are not alone; He will never leave us or forsake us--EVER.
Just keep us both in your prayers, and we thank you!

I know how you feel for I lost my Mother Father and young baby brother all in one year and that Christmas was one of the saddest I can ever remember and especially since I went through a divorce as well so spent the Eve and day in a small one room apartment. Years and other memories made the pain and the ache subside until when I think of them now it is always with a smile knowing how lucky I was to be blessed with them even if it was for only a short time.

Think, if you were alone...the burden would have been much heavier, but you have your sister to share, not only the sorrow, but also those great moments that you had with your Daddy when he was alive.
You will have my prayers always, the only thing that lacks is your smile, so, don't disappoint your Daddy in heavens and do it.
