Dear Journal~
Thank God for computers where I can have my print made larger, so I (and other visually impaired) people can read or function! I don't know what I would do without it; it sure beats hearing that monitone, spastic-sounding reader's voice on the books-on-tape; that gets annoying after a while! LOL
Michiko Osaka here. I am recovering well from my recent eye surgery; had a tumour form on it, so I had to have the eye removed. It bothered me a little, but not like it could have; it would have been worse if I had vision. I'm already blind; what's losing an eye? *grins*
I will be returning to work soon; until then, I take it easy, see my opthmologist every few weeks, so he can keep an "eye" (get it? Eye joke! LOL) on me. :)
Am in a strange mood. Maybe it's because Kaz, my boyfriend, proposed marriage to me. I said yes; that means, within the next several years we will be preparing for our wedding and will eventually become man and wife. Isn't that exciting??
I am so happy that God's brought Kaz into my life; he's a man's man, and he treats me like a queen! He doesn't care if I am blind and/or don't have eyes: he loves me for me, not for what I don't have! He's the best thing that's ever happened to me!
And I have a wide circle of friends from both the vision center where I see my doctors and from the neighborhood. I also have friends I made when I was in the hospital a few years back, when I'd been injured in that tornado; they still check in on me, which I greatly appreciate!
I have been going to a Japanese temple I found here; I think that's helping, too, for me to get through whatever nasties life throws at me. I think I have it bad; then I see people who have it so much worse; all of a sudden, what I have to endure day in and day out doesn't seem so bad.
Okay, hear of people, not see. LOL (Another eye joke! LOL)
Osaka, my new seeing eye dog, has since acclimatized to his new surroundings, and I have gotten used to his quirks, his habits. He is a very good dog, very smart, and well-behaved. He's taken away some of the sting I felt when I lost "Brutus", my first dog. He's black and brown, and is very big; he's what is known as a "sable" German shephard! He's very pretty, according to everyone who sees him.
Isn't that cute. My dog's name is Osaka Osaka! LOL
Well, I know this isn't much, but Kaz is coming over soon; he's going to take me out to eat, and then to a movie, maybe even bowling. This ought to be interesting. A blind person bowling. LOL I will let you know how it goes; until later, this is Michiko Osaka saying Sayonara! Love you!
~Michiko. :D
