Finnegan ("Flea") O'Flaherty is still frustrated at the lack of understanding people show him because of his "condition" that causes him to itch and break out in big sores all over his body.

Hence, his nickname, "Flea".

Flea here.

Still frustrated.  Getting no relief from the itchies I suffer at the hand of my stupid "condition".  Seems the heat/humidity really play a number on me.  I am getting sick of staying indoors; if I go outside, I only itch worse, so there you go.  Have to find ways to bust the boredom blues; it's really a giant pain in the you-know-where!!

I will be glad when fall or winter come here to southern Louisiana.  That way, I can go outside without worrying about frying to a crisp or feeling like a million-trillion bugs are traversing across my (reddened) skin!

Then people wonder why I am such a grouch all the time!  Ya THINK????

I mean, how would you like to live with what I have, day in and day out??  And people don't understand that what I have isn't "catching":  that is, you can't "get it" from hugging or touching me.  I'm not "contagious"; what I have isn't anything like the chicken pox or the measles!!

I'm also ostracized at school.  Because of my psoriasis, kids don't want to have anything to do with me because they see the sores on my arms, neck, face, and chest (I also have it on my legs; I have it just about everywhere), and/or they smell the ointments I use to help keep the psoriasis moist and the itchies to a dull roar.  I have very few friends; it's no wonder I feel so bad about myself a lot of the time!!

I'm still trying to convince my mom and dad to move us to Alaska.  No luck there; they say Alaska is too cold.  Maybe so, but at least a.) I wouldn't itch any more, and b.) I wouldn't have to worry about hurricanes or bugs so big you could ride 'em like an airplane!  Yeeks!!

What's more important?  My comfort or the fact that as long as I stay here in Louisiana, my health isn't gonna get any better??  It's like beating a dead horse:  no reaction, no matter how much I scream into their ear.  It's really frustrating!!

Well, I am going to go back to my stupid game; am playing Spider Solitaire; it's a lot harder than it looks.  (It's a dumb card game.  My dad taught me; I'm sorry he did because I haven't won a game YET!!!! GRRRR!!!!)  I will write in here again soon, probably after school starts up again.  Hopefully the kids will be a lot easier on me this go around; I hate being called names like "Leper" (what's a "leper" anyway?  It can't be good; just the sound of it sounds mean and ugly!!) or "Typhoid Finn"!!

Take care and bye for now!  Talk to you another day!

~"Flea" (Finnegan).  :(

Poor Flea! Hope his parents come around soon ... they've got to see how miserable he is, and how miserable the heat and humidity make him feel! Well done, Karen.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
