Matthiah is still in his coma; his mother sits faithfully by his side, keeping vigil. She updates us on how he is faring. (He was severely injured in a sledding accident a month back.)

Gillian here.  Thought I would update you on my son Matthiah Jamison's condition.

As you know, back on December 5th of 2009  (a month ago, in fact), my son was sledding with some friends when a buddy ran into him, sending him airborne.  When he landed, he hit a tree; he hit it with his head.  He is now in a coma; there's no indication of whether he will ever wake up again, or if he does if he will be left permanently paralyzed, blind, or brain damaged.

Doctors have no idea of when he will wake up or if he will ever wake up again.  He is stable, as far as his condition goes, but he faces a very long and lengthy recovery.  I have been staying with him every day, which is difficult because I have two more children to take care of:  seven-year-old Morgan Lynnea' and nine-year-old Kensie Danielle.

Right now the girls are with their daddy; Mother (my mom) comes and helps out whenever it is feasible for her.  They need someone familiar to be with them while their mom (me) whiles whiles away her time at the hospital; I know they are very concerned about their little brother.

They ask about him every day.

We did manage to have a little Christmas for them, but our hearts just weren't in the Christmas spirit.  All we could do was think of Matthias back at the hospital and pray that God make him better.

Right now, I am mad at God.  Why would He allow an innocent little child to get injured so badly that they might die?  What would happen if Matthiah were left permanently blind/paralyzed/disabled?  I don't think I could handle it; I have seen that too much already.

A neighbor boy is disabled because he fell down the stairs; it was a freak accident.  He is the same age as Matthiah and he can't do anything for himself.  To see him in this sad state, or to see him sitting in his wheelchair breaks my heart every time because I remember when Timmy could walk, talk, or run around.  Now he can't do anything for himself.

I don't want Matthiah to end up like Timmy!!  I want my ever-smiling, happy, laughing little guy back!!

*To be continued.*
