Howdy from the Lone Star State!! This is your little firecracker-lovin' friend, Brody James Murdoch, who was born right on the fourth of July! I hope you are well! I am doing great; can't be any better!!
Today, me, my mama, and my baby sister (Kristina) are going to our auntie's house. We're gonna have a picnic: hot dogs, hamburgers, salad, scalped potatoes [Brody meant scalloped], and for dessert, chocolate cake with cherries. It's gonna be fun! After the picnic, we're going to Dallas, for their Fourth of July festival. Tonight we may see fireworks. I like that part the best 'cause I say they're shootin' the fireworks off because it's my birthday! :)
They're doin' it just for li'l ol' me! :D
I just wish daddy could be here. He died in the war, you know. A bomb got him. He didn't have a chance. I miss him so much!!
Suddenly, July Fourth doesn't seem to be as much fun anymore ...
I just hope the rain holds off. We have a chance of rain in the afternoon/evening. I just hope it clears out in time for the fireworks or I'm gonna be really mad!!
Well, I gotta scoot: my mama and sister are up. I will write in here again soon; next time you hear from me, I'll be a whole 'nother year older!! I'm gettin' to be a very big boy! Take care and may God bless you always! Pray the rain stays away; I wanna see fireworks tonight!!
All the U.S. people and the Canadian people always get together to celebrate both events on both these holidays. James is more special, because he can certainly join in the fun too; for who would be able to forget James's birthday?
