July 3, 2010, Fort Worth, Texas, 8:45 p.m.~

Happy Fourth of July, everybody!  We are waiting for the fireworks to start.  They will be starting in under an hour from now.  And that is not the big show, which is tomorrow night:  the show tomorrow promises to be even more spectacular than the ones tonight, if that's possible, but if I know Fort Worth, they know how to throw a party!

Finally stopped raining.  It rained a good part of the day; we were starting to get worried about the fireworks.  If they were cancelled, it would be a big disappointment:  both Steffi and I love fireworks!  (Guess I got that from my dad:  dad loves fireworks; always did, mom says.  And Steffi's dad loves them just as much, if not more.)

So far, the head of the festival says the fireworks are still on.  Good, because the fireworks crew are busy doing last minute preparations to insure a good show.  And as I look west at the sky, I see breaks in it; haven't seen that all day.  So maybe the fireworks are still a go.  I sure hope so!

Steffi and I have been busy running around like chickens with our heads cut off, getting ready for our wedding, which is on October 16, 2010, here in Fort Worth.  We are getting married at the Botanical Gardens.  We have our wedding clothes picked, the music for the reception (country/western; the band also does Cajun and bluegrass), etc.  The big stuff is out of the way; now it's the little things we are still working on.

Tomorrow, our church (Friendship Assembly of God) is having a special Patriotic program to celebrate the Fourth of July.  Steffi has been busy rehearsing; she's in the choir, and she also has a solo in the program.  She sounds great; I know she will do a good job!  I've always liked the way she sings; she sings like an angel!  (Must be in the genes:  her whole family is musically talented.)

I didn't join up with the choir:  I can't sing my way out of a paper bag.  I am tone-deaf.  I sound like a dying whale when I sing!  LOLOLOLOLOL

I just hope when we have kids in the future they have their mama's musical ability!  LOL

The fireworks are going to be starting in just under a half hour from now.  I'd best find us a good seat; the place is quickly filling up with people.  I will write in here again soon; sorry it's been so long, but you know how that goes, especially in our case, with the wedding coming up and all ... hard to believe that we're getting married in about three months from now!  It's coming up fast!!
