My name is Kecia, and I am going to tell you about the new kid in my class. She is originally from Ohio, near Cleveland, and her name is Rajid Sanil; and she was born in India. (She was adopted at the age of three years.) She moved to Tennessee because her parents were transferred here, on account of their jobs. She has been in Tennessee just a few short weeks. She is also disabled. I don't know exactly what is wrong with her, but she uses crutches to walk, and she has a hard time keeping up with the other kids in gym.
Rajid is 11, like me, but she looks more like six. She is very tiny, and she is very thin, with long black hair, huge, bright-black eyes, and a thin little face that makes her look like a little elf. She is very delicate looking, and she is very shy.
Rajid came to our class just last week, and some of the kids are mean to her because of the fact that she IS handicapped, but it doesn't bother me in the least. See, I have brothers and sisters who are handicapped; so I am used to seeing kids like Rajid. And it doesn't matter to me IN THE LEAST that she is on crutches or can't walk as well as I can. She is a quiet kid, but she seems nice, anyway.
I hope I can become friends with Rajid; she looks rather lonely.
