The girl continues to deal with sudden changes that have rocked her world, and she does not like it.

I continue to experience the strangest things.  It all started with those annoying cicadas, who came to town in the spring.

Personally, I hope they leave soon.  Their constant droning is beginning to get underneath my skin!

Joe Breen, the boy in my class who hardly said two words to me, continues to chat with me at every chance he can possibly get.  And on weekends, he has even been showing up at my house!

Mom continues to grill me on where I am going and who I am going to hang out with while daddy continues to hide in his study and act all depressed.  The only time he is ever truly happy is when he is hanging out with his bar-drinking buddies.

The family of the 11 year old kid that died when all of this craziness started continues to wallow in their self-pity and grief; they refuse to accept that their son, Tyler, is even gone.  He had been playing football with his brothers when he dropped dead.  Bam! Just like that! One minute he was laughing and playing with his brothers; the next, he was stone-cold dead!

Now grandma Ethel is acting strange ... and it isn't just because of her early-onset Alzheimer's.  She's acting like there's a ghost about; maybe it's the ghost of her long-dead husband, Elmer, who died over 40 years ago.  She refuses to sleep in her room at night, and half the night, we can hear her gobbling with fright as she deals with unseen apparitions.

I also can't sleep because the constant beating of the cicadas' wings (or whatever they use to make their noises) hammers in my aers.  It's enough to make me want to go past the point of insanity!

If these darn bugs don't leave soon, I might go mad!!

Sounds like this young lady is living within a real-time nightmare. Once again brought into the sight and, in this case, the sound of your well written story.

Elias the Caretaker by Bob mitchley #shock stories

My memory of Elias is intimate but brief; I asked him, "what happened, where are you taking me, who are you? Tell me!" In a calm voice; "Sara hush, you died.
