We still haven't found Papa.
Papa has been gone for over a month now; we've not heard a word. Frankly, Mama and I are both getting scared.
We have been on a mission to find him, but it is a dangerous journey, for we could be kidnapped (or possibly even put into the prison camps, or worse, killed) by the Nazis, who are crawling everywhere, it seems ...
We have been hiding in any place we can think of: in the woods, in abandoned buidings, in the bushes ... anything to try to evade the ever searching eyes of the Nazis, who want nothing more than to anhiliate the Jewish people (the "inferior" race).
I am Jewish. The very thought of being put to work, beaten senselessly, or even murdered sickens me. Why do the Nazi people hate us so much?? We didn't do anything to them to provoke this unbelievable hatred towards us!
We have been praying to G-d; I think He's the only reason why we haven't been found or killed yet ... yet time is running out. I am sure the Nazis must be closing in on us; everytime I hear loud voices, heavy footsteps, or the heavy barking of large dogs, my heart leaps into my throat, and I think we are going to die.
It's a horrible feeling.
If we don't find Papa soon, I think I shall go mad ... G-d, please ... please help Mama and I find Papa soon; we miss him, and we need him back into our family!!
