Chloe Greathouse writes in her diary prior to the bus coming to pick her up for school.

Dear Diary~

Chloe here.  Thought I would write in here before the school bus arrives sharply at a quarter to seven ...

School is okay, but later today we may end up getting more snow.  We've had so much snow I am more than ready for spring to come!!  I HATE the snow and cold: the cold makes my nose run like a faucet, and when it snows heavy, then I'm trapped in my house; I can't get out easily because I use a wheelchair!

If I had a magic wand, I'd make it spring right now!!!!

School is okay, I guess, but there are still some kids who act all weird around me.  I'm sorry.  I can't help or change the fact that I am in a wheelchair or talk funny!  I have cerebral palsy; it's something I've lived with all my life, so deal with it! Get used to it already!!

I could walk with crutches (or a wheeled walker), but I fall too much, so it's easier if I use the chair.  And the last time I tried to walk (on crutches), I fell and busted my nose wide open; had to go to the ER to get stitches and spent the night in the hospital, nursing a concussion.

I was in the hospital one day; I was NOT amused, and my poor face looked like I fought Muhammad Ali!!  It was NOT a pretty sight!!

Mama got the lawyer job.  She started the week after New Years, and last Friday she brought her first check home.  She is making some serious money.  So now maybe we don't have to struggle so much!  :)  An answer to prayer!

Daddy, on the other hand, got denied his disability.  The stupid people at the disability ranking place said that "he wasn't disabled enough".  Come ON!! Daddy canNOT walk without help (his crutches); just how disabled does he have to BE???  Mama was mad when she found out; she's gonna fight the system and make sure that daddy gets the disability income he so rightfully deserves!!

When daddy got the denial letter, he cried.  It broke all of our hearts.  It made all of us feel bad!

I got my school bag all packed and ready to go.  I also made sure I have my homework, so I don't forget it.  I did this the last time; got a big, fat red zero in the attendance book, too.  I was so ashamed!!  (I left my homework at home, right where I had left it: on my dresser, right where one could see it.  And then I had to go and forget it!  Typical me ... I'd forget my head if it weren't glued on straight ... :/ )

No big, fat red zeros for me this time ... no, ma'am!!

Once was enough.  Lesson learned!

Well, I gotta eat  my breakfast before the bus comes in about twenty minutes.  I will write in here again; until later, this is Chloe Greathouse saying so long!  Pray I get through another school day without kids making fun of me or staring at me!! I am sick.  Of.  It!!!!

~Chloe.  :(

Maybe the reason the Dad got denied disability is because Mom is making too much money? Just wondering ... but I know what you're saying. The people that need it can't get it due to the ones who abuse the system. Also, uncaring people who have no idea what it is like to be disabled make the decisions. A screwed up system, for sure. Well done, Karen.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
