My name is Montana Elijah Boothe.  I am nine years old.

I live in Ogden, Utah, with my family.  My family is made up of my momma and daddy, and my three sisters (all younger); their names are Summer Rain (eight), Gisela Ellen (seven), and the baby, Jacki Denise, who is only two.  Our grandmother also lives with us, as does my pet chocolate Lab I named "Hershey's Kisses".

I am in the fourth grade at Cedar Ridge Elementary.  I do pretty well at school, but to tell you the truth, I'd much rather be playing outside than being holed up in my room, doing homework.  Homework is for the birds!!

I like to do many things, including snow skiing (I have skied since I could walk), sledding down the hill in our backyard, going ice skating, playing hockey, and also playing basketball, baseball, and soccer in the spring, summer, and fall months of the year.  I have always enjoyed playing outside, but on the weekends, when I don't have homework, I do like playing my video games or playing Mahjongg on the computer.

I also like to go to concerts.  I love country music.  My favorite singers are Toby Keith and Carrie Underwood.  I have seen both of them in concert; got to meet them (and have my picture made with them) after the show.  Even got their autographs!  That was exciting!!  

On Sundays, we go to church.  We go to a Baptist church not far from where we live. Sometimes people look at us real funny, 'cause we're not Mormon.  Just because we live in Utah doesn't mean that we have to become Mormons!  Not everyone who lives in Utah are Mormon, you know (just most everybody!) ... :)

Saturdays are my favorite day of the week, 'cause I get to play (and annoy my sisters! LOL).  I get to sleep in, too: sometimes I don't get up until 11:30 or 12:00 noon, especially if the weather is bad out; there's nothing to do, so I like to sleep in.  Kinda makes up for having to get up before the sun comes up Monday through Friday for school!

This story I am writing now is a homework assignment for English.  Mrs. Pratt, my teacher, wants us to write a little essay about ourselves; she will then pick the best reports and have us read them aloud to the class.  I hope I don't have to do that; I hate reading aloud in class, 'cause I trip over my words, and I sound all stupid and dorky!  I've never liked speaking out or reading in front of my class!

Well, I gotta go.  Have to finish my Math homework, then I am going to take a bath before supper; after supper, I will go to bed and sleep in until 12:00 (or I plan to, anyway!).  We're supposed to get more snow tomorrow here in the mountains; we might get as much as a foot and a half of snow!  I hope we get buried; I love snowstorms!!
