A story about a little Pug.

I have a new little companion in my life: a little six-week-old Pug puppy I have decided to name "Baby-Boo".  He's light tan all over with dark chocolate brown on his nose and muzzle, and he has a tightly curled little tail that rests upon his back.  He's so ugly he's actually quite cute: people can't help but fall in love when they see his sweet little face (myself included).

I got the puppy as a way of helping me cope with life's problems.  I am an injured United States Marine Corps Veteran: was injured in the current skirmish going on in Iraq.   Was injured last year; lost part of my lower leg, and have shrapnel imbedded in my body: I'm in constant pain, and it hurts to walk: I walk on crutches now, but I hope to graduate to a prosthetic leg soon.

In addition to that, I am currently fighting a callous government, trying to get on VA disability, but they keep trying to deny me of any coverage ("it's all in your head!" they keep telling me.  REALLY???).  I am also trying to find work, but nobody wants to hire me.  People tend to treat me like a pariah because I served my country.  (Something's wrong in Denmark, folks ... )

Anyway, it was my mom who suggested that I get a companion of the animal kind.  To help me take my mind off my troubles, she told me.  I went with her to the pound a few days ago, and came home with a little Pug puppy.  We are both getting used to each other; it's going to be a day-to-day process for the two of us.  All I know is this: Baby-Boo is as active as they come.  I don't know how I am going to keep up with him when I have more than enough trouble getting around myself.

I hope that Baby-Boo will help me cope because right now, life's a b#### (rhymes with "witch").  Sometimes my feelings or nightmares are so strong, I want nothing more than to overdose on pills and just end it all.  I have had more than enough with the awful treatment I've been getting from society (and government) in general, and I am tired of fighting for my rights in a system that just doesn't seem to give a darn for its soldiers/Veterans!

Well, Baby-Boo is acting like he wants to go outside to do his thing, so I will let him out before there's an ugly incident on my kitchen floor (plus he's whining piteously and looking up at me with those huge, soulful puppy eyes; who could resist something like that?? I certainly can't!).  Until next time, take care; I will be writing more about Baby-Boo soon!
