A boy doesn't care who he hurts.

I don't care who I hurt, as long as I get my way.

Yeah, call me selfish.

It's 'cause life's kicked me to the curb; because of it, I don't trust anybody.  I've been hurt far too many times.  Why even hope for good things when all I get is disappointed time and time again?

I am a child of divorce.  Parents split up when I was four; I had to move in with my grandmother, who was as mean as a snake.  Prejudiced, too.  I was shuttled back and forth from foster home to foster home when grandma died; that went on for over 8 years.  At the age of 13, dad wanted me to move in with him; then I come to find out that he was a drunk and was shacking up with a woman that could have been my sister; she wasn't even 20 and he was having sex with her.  Dad was also into porn, big time.

I had enough, so I ran off.  Been living with my best friend's fam ever since.  It's the best possible thing that could have happened to me.

Because of my life I don't like people trying to help me.  I can take care of myself.  I also don't like Spanish, Black, Native, or Oriental people.  Never have, never will.  They make me uncomfortable, so I don't want anything to do with 'em.

Yeah, you can call me racist.  While I am not a white Supremist or Nazi or KKK member, anything like that, I still don't like people who aren't white.  I do call 'em names, but not to the extent of some racial epitaphs that people use.  I just mainly call 'em morons or stupid or stuff like that.  Sure, they get mad or annoyed, but as I said, I don't really give a rat's butt.

Maybe that's not the way to be, but I'm angry at life and I have to let it out somehow.  I may end up in jail or worse because of my stupid attitude, but oh, well .... life has a way of kickin' me to the curb; why wouldn't I wanna lash out??

Hi Karen, very interesting write. One supposes from a young man's view these ideas and thoughts surface quite easily especially when feeling like he's been "kicked to the curb." What he needs is someone to direct him onto the right road. Sure hope future writes find him going through just that. Thanks for sharing.

A lot of reality in this one, Karen. Having been a foster parent to more than 60 children myself, I saw way too much of similar attitudes like this boys. Sad but well written, Karen. God bless.
