I know now that if I venture outside it could very well be the end of me.  Yet I have no choice.  I have had more than enough of these darned Martians; they have driven me crazy (or kept me trapped indoors) for the very last time!!

Today I went to the store.  Walked to the nearest store to get food and bread; got back within fifteen minutes.  It's a thousand miracles I wasn't spotted or attacked, but I kept looking around me as I walked (very fast, mind you!).

When I got back, Mom blistered my ears.  She screamed at me for a good ten minutes 'til my ears rang.  I thought they were going to bleed, her voice was that loud.  Yet she appreciated me getting some food; so she got over her anger quite rapidly, much to my relief.

The sky is still an ugly reddish-orange color and planes are still silent.  Haven't heard any planes in months, but have heard helcopters or military jets (probably perusing for more sightings of Martian spacecraft).  The President is still trying to come up with a foolproof way to defeat the Martians, but so far nothing.  So we sit here, holed up in our "bunkers", and wait.  And pray.

I am trying to think of a way to get to the Martians myself, but what does one teen girl have to fight against space aliens bent on our destruction?  Our world as we knew it is long past history; it's now a fight-and-survival mode.  Those who are left alive have to think of ways to keep from getting obliberated (or even captured) by these wily fools!!
