I am now in the fifth grade. This year, my teacher is Mrs. Trowbridge. I am doing well in most of my classes; math continues to give me a headache. I hate math! YUCK!!
I had a good Christmas, but it came and left too fast. I am not ready for it to be over yet! Last night we finally took down the last of the Christmas decorations and the lights and leave it to Emma to cry like a baby! She loves Christmas, even more than I do (if that is even possible, but it is!).
We are home from school today because the weather here is so bitterly cold and bad out. We're currently under blizzard warnings; we're expecting nearly 3 feet of snow. It's even thundering and lightning out, which is weird (but it is scaring Toby and Ella to pieces). It's snowing and blowing so hard one can hardly see the street lights or across the way.
The weather people are advising people to stay home and off the roads; they say that the roads are extremely treacherous. They say if people are caught out they will be arrested; they are that serious. The only time people can go on the roads is if it's an emergency; any other reason stands for a chance of getting arrested.
Mom and Dad are making their famous home made chili; that will then be put over mashed potatoes. We will also have a lettuce salad and for dessert, apple cobbler. Yum!! The kitchen smells heavenly! I just hope the power holds or else we're sunk (but then we can use our fireplace and wrap up in our thickest, warmest blankets).
We had a good Christmas. I know I did. I got some new clothes, some new pens and writing paper, some art supplies, some new books, some perfume, some make up, and some new music CD's (Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, Kaitlyn Maher [my last copy was busted when my stupid sister accidentally sat on it! I was so mad at her!!]), and Alison Krauss). I also got money and some gift certificates.
Now it is a new year and I am wondering what this year will bring. I'm almost too scared to find out ....
Well, I hate to run, but the wind's really picking up and the power is flicking on and off, so before it dies entirely, I'd best get out of here. Until later, this is Snow Adkins saying so long; may God bless you always!
Good take on the Characters. Here we can drive on the roads in nasty blizzards without threat of being arrested but...you drive at own risk. I work in a grocery store and I am constantly amazed at what people will drive in just to get snack foods......!! Me? when I work on days/nights like that...I walk to work.
