Today is one of the most important days on the Christian calendar, and for thousands of other people.
Today is the day we celebrate victory over death. Not even death or being nailed on a tree could hold Jesus back. He died, was buried, and rose again, two days later. What could have been Satan's victory was ended by God; God had a plan to bring His son, Jesus, back to life, so He, Jesus, could save man from their sinful ways.
Jesus rose to the Heavens, promising us, His children, that He would return one day. And that promise still holds true even today, over 2,000 years later. Jesus IS coming back again, to take His chosen children, to live with Him in glory, forever and ever. And that day is coming sooner than people may realize.
Jesus' death upon that cross was brutal. Ugly. Horrific. Nobody has a clue just how much He bore for our sinful nature. He was beaten beyond recognition, suffered incredible pain and torture, and then died, not from blood loss, but from suffocation. He was so weak and battered he could not draw in proper breath in his lungs; He eventually gave up His spirit and then died; and the world as we knew it was changed forever.
People often fail to understand why someone would die such a agonizing death. Yet Jesus still loved us even in spite of our sinful ways, and He was willing to die in our place; He didn't want to see us, His children, follow the same path, so He became a sacrifice for us and became a lamb and died in our stead. What was meant for evil and destruction instead became a symbol of just how powerful His love was for us ... and still is, even now.
This is why we celebrate Easter: Jesus is alive. He has risen from the grave and now dwells in Heaven, at the right hand of His Father; He has chosen to love us still and is ready to give people a second chance if we just believe, admit that we are a sinner, repent of our sins, and then ask Him to come into our lives. That's all we have to do. Jesus is available to come into your life if You allow Him to; once He does come in, your life will never be the same. I can guarantee that.
I was only seveenteen years old when I gave my life to Christ. Before then, I was into devil worship and belonged to a notorious motorcycle gang. I was about as bad as bad could be. I was not a very nice person. Yet God loved even me, and when I realized that I could not live without God after attending a church service with some friends, well, I asked Christ to come into my heart, and He cleaned up even me. My life hasn't been the same. I then answered His call to become a minister of the gospel, and now I work at a rapidly growing church of believers, where I share the Message of Hope and Truth with others. I am now a child of the King and am serving MY Master, the Lord Jesus Christ.
That same thing can happen to you. Jesus is ready and waiting. He loves you. No matter what You have done in your life, no sin is too great for God if you just believe that He is the son of God, that He died for you and your sins, repent of your sins, and pray a simple little prayer and ask Christ into your life.
Just say something like this: Lord, I cannot save myself. I am a sinner and I have sinned. I believe that You are the son of God and that You say You ARE who You say You are. I know I have made a mess of my life and I am willing to make it right. I am willing to turn from my sins, and I ask You to forgive me. I want You, Lord Jesus, to come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour. Please, Lord, come into my heart. Cleanse me; give me a new hope, a new life, a new start. I would like to serve You for the rest of my days. I want to be Your child and have a hope and a future. I ask all of this in Your most precious Name ... amen and AMEN.
And He, Jesus Christ, the same Christ who died on that Cross and rose from the Dead, CAN live in YOU. He loves you and nothing would make Him happier than to see a new believer come into the Kingdom! That truly WOULD be something worth celebrating this Easter/Resurrection Sunday! Hallelujah! He has risen!! He has risen indeed!!
