     A woman tries to count her blessings, even in light of life's storms. This is her story.

It has always been noted in the Bible that God never gives His children more than they are able to handle.

I have often found that to be a rather strange quote because it seems that some people go through so much in their lifetime; at times it seems that God doesn't even care!

Case in point: my aunt Peggy, who is my cousin's wife.  She has serious health problems that have caused her to go into and out of hte hospital for one thing or another.  Their medical bills have been piling up fast.  It doesn't help that her husband (my cousin) lost his job due to downsizing.  He has been looking for work ... but without any success.  Things are getting pretty desperate for the family.

If something doesn't happen soon, they may very well end up homeless.

Another example is a friend of mine from work, who just left an abusive relationship and is now working on getting a divorce.  Things aren't easy for her either, but unlike my cousin and his family, Sharon is relying on God and her attitude has been quite remarkable through all that she has faced.

I, myself, am facing trials of my own.  My teenaged son, Scott (17) wrecked his car last weekend and just got out of the hospital a few days ago; he continues to recuperate here at home.  Scott had been drinking.  He is now grounded until a.) his father or I say otherwise, and b.) we see that he is truly sorry for what he has done.

It could have very easily been so much worse; I'm just grateful that it wasn't.

Besides our son's mischief, we are dealing with our 14-year-old daughter's belligerent attitude towards us.  Morgan is always mouthing off and telling me how much she hates me.  It is enough to make me think of myself as a failure as a mother.  We have tried to be there for our kids and have supported them in every way possible; we wonder where we have gone wrong.  We haven't been that strict: we allow our kids to have friends over, go to the mall once a week, and give them a respectable allowance.  It's not like we have neglected them or forgot to tell them how much we love them.  We did this and so much more; this is the thanks I (or husband Scott, Sr.) get??

We are trying to fully rely on God during these dark times, but it is so hard.  It is just so da**** hard!!

I know God will bring us through life's troubles, but does life in itself have to be so difficult??

Just say some prayers for our family; we all could really use God's intervention in a big way!! Thanks in advance!
