Bonjour, mes amis! Comment ca-vas? J'suis tres bien, merci beaucoup!
It's me, Ronee', writing. Sorry if I haven't written in a while; been terribly busy studying for finals (then taking them; took them last week; found out I passed all my courses, which is a huge relief!), getting ready to graduate from college (I graduate tomorrow!!), and trying to ensure that my pregnancy continues to proceed without incident.
Hard to believe that after tomorrow, I don't have to worry about school any longer (unless I decide to take more courses to further my education along); I will now concentrate on getting ready to have my baby in November. I am several months along, but it already looks like I've swallowed a small basketball: one can definitely tell that I am expecting a child.
We are also getting ready to move. We are going to move back to Tennessee, so I can be closer to my parents and my brother, Johnny, and his wife, and my brothers and sisters who still live at home. I miss my family so much when they're not here! Most of them are, but alas, Johnny isn't. He and his wife are getting ready to become parents themselves and so many preparations have to be made.
It will be good to be back home. I love Louisiana, don't get me wrong, but it's not home. I miss my friends from school and from my neighborhood on Twin Rivers Lane, which is the street my parents live on (and where I lived before I came to Louisiana to go to college). I miss my church family; I wonder if they even think of me (I am sure they do; I think about them all the time!).
In any event, I am having a ball at the Crawfish Festival here in Breaux Bridge. I just got done performing (went on stage at 2:00 and performed until 3:00, for an hour); I'm tired, not to mention, starving!! I had Michael go and get me some food; my belly is really talking to me! I just hope Baby doesn't get upset with all the Cajun spices; so far the Baby has been behaving. I' m just glad the morning sickness is now history; it really hit me badly!!
After we eat, Michael and I will probably dance a while and then eat some more, as well as visit with my family. I have seen Mama and Daddy and several of my brothers and sisters; they all look like they're having a wonderful time. I know Michael and I are!! It's like a big Family Reunion every year we go to the Crawfish Festival!
It's easy to find me in any crowd: I'm wearing a white pantsuit with bright red crawfish; the crawfish are surrounded by rhinestones. I am sparkling pretty good here! LOL
Michael is easy to spot too: he's wearing a crawfish hat and a bright red and white sweatshirt and black jeans. He looks so silly .... LOL My husband may not be Cajun by birth, but he respects my heritage, which I greatly appreciate, and he's turning into a real Cajun. :) (Of course, he married ME! LOL)
We will then probably hit the road and be home by 10; will have to leave early, so I can get rested up before tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be a huge day for me and my classmates; we are about to embark on a new chapter in our lives. There will probably be lots of tears and laughter .... I know I will be crying buckets of tears ....
