A girl tries to deal with her mother's hoarding habit.
I look around me, and I am disgusted beyond belief. There's trash and litter strewn everywhere; some places it's so thick you can't even see the floor. There's boxes and clothes thrown haphazardly around the room, and even dirty dishes. I see bugs crawling in among the junk and on the walls and ceilings. The stink is almost enough to make me sick.
My mother is a hoarder. She will not, absoultely will not throw anything away. Anything is fair game. As long as it's something, even if it's junk or has no sentimental value, my mother has got to have it or else she goes crazy!
I don't know when Mom started hoarding, but I don't like it, and neither does anybody else. We are always getting after her to clean up her act, but Mom refuses. It's embarrassing to have company (or friends) over because they see what a pig sty our house is. It's a wonder the city hasn't gotten on her case; I wouldn't be surprised if they did.
Something has got to be done, or Mom will more than likely end up in jail, and we kids could be taken away by CPS because it's as if my Mom is endangering our health and safety, and they may see her as an unfit parent! Pray that something can be done to help her; I can't live like this any more!!
