You know that game, where a person tries to guess where something is, and when you get close to finding it (or far away from it), they say: "You're getting warmer!" (or "You're getting colder!")?
Well, that was how it was when I tried to find my new jacket that my aunt had gotten for me when she went on an Alaskan cruise just a few weeks ago.
I could not find it anywhere, no matter how hard I tried or wherever I looked. It was as if it had disappeared right into thin air.
You would think this particular jacket would be easy to find because it is a bright kelly green in color, the color of shamrocks, but for some reason, I could not locate it at all!
Of course, my mother knew right where it was. She kept telling me if I was getting closer to where it was, but my eyes (and brain) somehow could not make the connection. Where it was exactly remained a deep mystery to me.
Then I happened to see one of the sleeves hanging down on a chair in the dining room; the jacket was mostly hidden by my dad's work uniform. I had put the jacket on a chair upon coming home from school and had forgotten all about it until I went to wear it the next day. Then I couldn't remember where I had put it!
Boy, talk about feeling like a fool!
I'm just glad I found my new jacket (with Mom's help); I don't know what I would have done if I had accidentally lost it! I probably would have gotten an earful from Mom (and then some)!
