A young girl writes of her feelings about Easter and why it is celebrated.

It is that special time of year again,
when joy and hope replace the sting of pain.

For it is Easter, the time we celebrate Jesus' Ressurrection from the Cross,
And His doing so is very much Satan's loss.

He died on the Cross, paid the ultimate sacrifice;
He did it as an act of love, and He wanted us to have Eternal Life.

He was beaten, whipped, suffered much,
He could have asked for God's Healing Touch.

But He did this because He was tired of man living in sin,
And He wanted man to have peace and joy within.

So He chose to suffer, chose to end His Own Life,
And He did this as a way to remove us from strife.

So He went upon the Cross, wept, and then died,
And the entire world went dark as the people wept and cried.

But two days later, a Miracle had opened people's eyes;
For the tomb where Jesus lay was empty, and they saw Him rising up to the skies.

For He had come back to life; He was going to go to Heaven to be with God,
And to see Him very much alive had many people surprised and awed.

He promised that He would come back to Earth, to take His Children up Heaven Way,
And it is this Hope-filled Promise that causes people to pray today.

For He is coming back soon, that day is very near,
And it shows that His Love for us today is still very dear.

So this is why we celebrate Easter: Jesus is Alive, Jesus is still The King,
So let the church bells chime and the choir voices ring!
