They may not look like much: our ragtag group of children, children of all ages, not to mention, sizes, shapes, and colors. But if one learns to overlook their wheelchairs, crutches, or other medical paraphenalia, then they will learn to see the beauty that lies inside each and every one of these beautiful faces.
Our children range in age from 5 months on up to the age of 15 years, and they were adopted from various places here in America as well as from countries like India, Guatemala, Korea, China, and Bosnia-Hergozovina. Our children's names are Matthew, Lukas, Camillia, Gregory, Maylee, Tiffany, Manuel, America, Paris, Timberly, Heath, Neddie, Cayden, Gabriella, and Dalton.
We live in Columbus, Ohio, by the way.
My name is Franklin Evans, and I am the father to these precious angels; and my wife's name is Loretta Lynn. REALLY. That is ACTUALLY her GIVEN name!
I knew in my heart that Loretta and I wanted a big family, so we took it to the Cross; and He was kind enough to answer our prayer in a very big and profound way. We have been adopting for about five years now, and we couldn't be happier! :)
"Why 'special-needs' children?" people always ask. Why? Well, because even though they may have their problems, they are CHILDREN first, and they can accomplish and teach so much if they are given that opportunity; and we happen to see much potential in their little bodies. They have been bruised and kicked around enough in their young lives as it is, and it is high time someone steps in and gives these beautiful little ones a chance to succeed in life!
This is where WE come in. And this is why we happen to adopt such children. Anyone can adopt, but it takes a special person to adopt children with significant special needs!
