Even though she is disabled, Ronee' finds a way to do things, and she is one who isn't ready to give up when things get hard.
Call me stubborn if you will, but I am not a person who is ready to give up that easily.
Though I COULD, very easy. I am disabled, but I am not going to let my problems rule my life. Even though my disabilities are an every day thing, and I have to learn to cope with them, I refuse to let people take advantage of me, and I refuse to give in to my disabilities. I may walk with help, but I still CAN walk, even if it IS with my crutches or leg braces, and if I need my wheelchair, I'll use that too, but I try to mainly use my crutches or my braces. I feel if I use my wheelchair too much, I will get lazy, and I will lose my ability to walk well; and that is one thing I do NOT want to do!
I also may have allergies to some things, but I know well enough to stay away from things like peanuts, bees, penicillin, or stuff like that because if I don't, that could very well be the end of me. And I want to LIVE; I am only 10 years old now, and I have a lot of living and loving to do! Besides, my allergies, for the most part, are getting better, and that is what matters!
I am also a kid who has learned to appreciate the things she DOES have because there are too many other people who DON'T have it as good as I do. I can do many things for myself, and I can walk, see, hear, think, talk, and do so much with my brain and with my music. God gave me the ability, and I am able to do many things. There are people who can't do much for themselves, and they need a lot in the way of help with just about everything in their lives. Like my older sister, Jodie, or my older brother Todd. Even though they are older than me, they are more like infants because they are severely brain damaged, and they are severely mentally and physically handicapped. I often wish they could do more for themselves than what they can. I don't think it is very fair that some people have to have it so hard in life when they don't deserve to! :(
I may be handicapped in many people's eyes, but I am a kid first, and I will do things MY way! I have accomplished a lot in life, and I will continue to strive to do my very best as long as God will let me.
