The screenplay is complete and Book Two in the series is 95% right. This Sci-fi Mystery Thriller with Hi-Action offers a new twist on the avalanche popularity novel by James J. Marry. The work was planned first for the writers of Lara Croft; Tomb Raider- and then was agented to TriStar but is available for all to see (in part) to envision the same flow that I can see as the author. I killed the relationship with the Florida agency and may look again when Go Figure gets its deal. Shut Up can be included. Contact is shutupnovel.yahoo.com.
Shut Up- the screenplay
By James J. Marry
Titles will run during opening scene where we enter the universe from a great distance and circle the great planet Saturn. As we turn 2/3 , we reach a space station of immense size that seems dead. Then our trip passes the moon Titan and we can glimpse a scientific outpost. Further around, another larger station looms and we enter the station through a portal that leads to a woman lying on a couch reading. As titles still pass, the woman nods off slowly to sleep. The woman is Marie Cherillo. When her eyes close the camera seems to re-enter space through her head and travels back through space passing Jupiter, Mars, our Moon and then from the dark side and counterclockwise we watch as the P.O.V. sees Florida and plummets to a stop in a parking lot in a convenience store in Tarpon Springs, Florida. We pass two bullies and an old man as we enter the store and titles stop as we come up behind Casey Kowalski waiting in line at the counter to be served by an Indian man.
JAMAL: (finishing with the customer) Thank you and please come again! (looks up and sees Casey) Mr. Casey!!! How are you? Do you expect a big crowd at the club tonight?
CASEY: Same Saturday night crowd as usual unless the rain keeps them all off the roads.
JAMAL: Well, here are your regular ten Lotto tickets. Good Luck!
Casey turns to leave
CASEY: Thanks Jamal. See you next week. (he stops at the glass door and notices the bullies with the old man, stops and says) Shit. (he pushes through the door).
Big Drunk looks at Casey
Big Drunk: I thought that was you, dick head. (turns to old man) Get out of here you old fuck. I’ll catch up with you again later. (turns back to Casey) I told you I would get even with you fucker.
CASEY: Yeah, I seem to remember something about that the last time I had to throw your ass out of Fuddy’s. You know I don’t work there anymore. Don’t you?
Smaller Drunk: That don’t mean he’s likely to forget the whippin’ you gave him when he was drunk asshole.
CASEY: You mean the third ass whippin I gave him and by the way, he’s always drunk.
Big Drunk; Yeah, well two of us ought to even the odds up pretty fair…. Especially with my little friend here. ( he removes a large Bowie style knife from the sheath on his belt)
CASEY: (disgusted look) You really shouldn’t have done that. I have a great dislike for men who fight with knives.
Big Drunk: This won’t be a fight then fucker. It’ll be a CARVING. (Big Drunk)
FIGHT scene ensues with Big Drunk losing first, Little Drunk takes two by four to CASEY and loses also. Casey brushes off knee and looks back to JAMAL in the doorway.
CASEY: Hey! Keep my name out of this when the cops show up, would you?
JAMAL shrugs like “Of Course.”
Casey steps into a ’69 Plymouth Duster (BLACK) and very pretty. Squeals out to a parking lot with Club A’ Go Go in it. Casey walks up stairs to the club.
RAMON: What’s up, Bubba? (they shake hands with a chest bump)
CASEY: Not much. Danny get in yet? (Ramon nods towards the end of the bar)
RAMON: Waitin’ for you Boss.(Casey heads down the front bar towards Daniel with two sexy women)
Daniel dis-embraces the broads and meets Casey a third of the way. They hug and we close up.
DANIEL: (in Casey’s ear) I sure hope I didn’t hire a manager who likes to come in on his own hours, Casey. (he grins)
CASEY: I needed to spend some time on my kids, buddy. Plus, you know the place nearly runs itself anyway. You just pay me to keep the riff raff under control and they don’t get here ‘til later. (the two break their embrace)
DANIEL: As long as I’ve known you, you’ve always taken care of business first< Case. (smiles) How is your ex-wife anyway?
CASEY: The best wife a man could have ever divorced Danny. (returns smile)
DANIEL: Listen. Try and save some energy for later. I need to take a private meeting in my office and after we close I’ve got a party out at the Ranch I want you to be at.
CASEY: That means that I’m driving since you’ll be doing the drinking until then. Right?
DANIEL: (backing away with his arms out- the two girls find their places with in them) But, of course, Case. What else?
CASEY returns to the doorway where RAMON is in conversation with the Head Bartender ROBIN- a small knockout.
ROBIN: (turning to Casey) So, the Master of Ceremonies has his knight in shining armor to defend the castle?
CASEY: That’s more Ramon’s place than mine Robin. I just watch the money.
ROBIN: And the rich get richer with smiles all around the house. (she points to Daniel his audience)
CASEY: Sounds like justice to me since we all seem to be doing pretty well on account of the club.
ROBIN: It’s a little short lived since we’ve only been open a few months, but I have to agree, Casey. (Robin goes back to the bar)
RAMON: A nice looking girl, Case. Do you think that her and Daniel ever…?
CASEY: Well, she’s the only person on the books that Daniel insisted that I hire but he never clued me in on giving her the goods. I do think she does a great job though, and I think we need to get to work as well. ( a knowing grin is shared)
The night goes on until people start to leave. TIME is called by the bar and Casey notices Daniel is nowhere to be found. Casey walks down a hallway to the office and he sees Daniel at the fire door showing a small blonde a quiet escape. Daniel turns and is mildly surprised to see Casey there.
DANIEL: Hey bud! Let’s wrap this thing up and get the hell out of here. I’ve got people waiting for us both at the house.
CASEY: Both of us?
DANIEL: (big smile) An old friend wants to see you there. You’ll see. (and walks off)
After some quiet driving where Casey looks over and observes Daniel in deep thought, Casey and Daniel arrive at The Ranch in Casey’s Duster. They get out and enter. A party is going that includes some 35-50 people. A knockout brunette (chorus line beauty) gives big eyes to Casey on entry.
DANIEL: Ya see? I told you somebody special was looking for you back at the Ranch. Amy wanted to surprise you. WE just met, but I wish I had seen her before you did, Bud.
Big smile crosses Amy and Casey’s faces. Amy staggers towards Casey with some alcohol assist in her hand. Danny exits scene.
CASEY: What’s happening, Kitten? Seems like when I saw you this past summer, you might have been near as relaxed (CASEY points at the glass in AMY’s hand), but you sure are a sight for sore eyes, gorgeous.
AMY: Don’t sweet talk me, lollipop. I don’t plan on keeping my clothes on around you for long without the compliments. I’ve been off of the snowflake (Amy points to her nose) and the glass arm (points to the inside of the elbow) and I plan on collecting some of my reward from you tonight no matter what you have to say about it.
CASEY: Darlin, its all I can do to keep from dropping my drawers right here and now. I’m always glad to see you staying on the straight and narrow.
AMY nuzzles in and nibbles at CASEY’s neck while her hand investuigates below his belt line.
AMY: I’m only interested in my own straight and narrow right now, Big Boy.
CASEY breathes deeply and takes AMY by the arm after catching a glimpse of DANIEL with a strange look on his face and sitting at a table.
CASEY: Hang on a second, Amy. Get me a Dewar’s and water, while I let Daniel know where I’m at. We can walk down to the lake.
AMY: (pouts) Well, don’t take too long or I’ll get a drink for me too. (AMY smiles brightly and chuckles- turns to find the bar)
CASEY looks around the room to find DANIEL sitting at a table in the kitchen. DANIEL is having a whispered discussion with an UGLY older man dressed in the gaudiest of garb possible. A SLICK young man built like a brick shithouse stands over the conversation watching over the room. DANIEL makes eye contact with CASEY and waves him off. CASEY signals that he is going outside by the lake. CASEY finds AMY and the drink and the two head down to the lake.
On the dock, at the back of a boathouse, AMY takes the drink from CASEy and begins to get close.
AMY: You and Daniel have been friends for a long time, Casey. It’s nice that he brought you in with his biggest success at Club A Go Go. (AMY starts to unbutton Casey’s shirt while kissing his neck).
CASEY: (looking back at the boat in the boathouse) Danny and I have been through a lot over the last few years. About the only thing we don’t share is his love for fishing.
AMY: (her big brown eyes stare into CASEY’s with a demure grin) I think that your LOVE for FISHING just takes on a different species with a PART-TIC-U-LAR gender. (Amy’s hand move down as we hear the sound of his zipper.
CASEY: (face shot, eyes to the sky) OOOOOOH man. (AMY kneels down before him) Geez, girl.
Distant shot from the mist, we see Amy performing on CASEY orally. Come back in to watch CASEY pull her up by the arms.
CASEY: Wow, Amy. It’s been a little while, but I think we need to take this party back to my place to make it all worthwhile for the both of us.
AMY: (stands up and wipes her mouth) I think we could have done that too, but you’re the boss Casey (Amy chuckles as Casey fixes his pants and they turn back towards the house)
CASEY: So how did you get out here to Danny’s house, beautiful?
AMY: I met some party boys down south that had a limo and they said they were going to a party at Daniel’s. I told them that my boyfriend was Danny’s muscle and they told me they’d give me a ride. I think they were hoping that I was pulling their leg, but when you and Daniel showed up, they disappeared back into the kitchen.
CASEY: (stops to think) So that’s the guys that were talking with Daniel in the kitchen?
AMY: Yeah, a real ugly dude and his punk nephew. Greeks, I think. The young one was cute, but definitely not my type (AMY smiles at CASEY). Not enough equipment on him. (AMY chuckles)
CASEY: (takes AMY by the arm) Yeah, right.
CASEY leads AMY to the house and they are both startled by a rustling sound. When Casey steps in front of Amy to see what is making the noise - DANIEL surprises them both.
CAEY: Damn man, you could have told us you were out here. Amy almost got a gray hair the way that you surprised us.
DANIEL: (looking down at the ground) Sorry, Case. I wasn’t paying attention. (DANNY pushes past the two and CASEY looks after him thoughtfully before proceeding with AMY around the house to his Duster.)
As Casey and Amy are starting to leave Casey notices Daniel in front of the house holding the hand of the pretty little blond from earlier at the club. He is saying good night to the UGLY old man and his goon nephew. Casey drives on. After a few moments, Casey looks in the mirror to see a tail, he thinks.
AMY: Is Ramon still managing the trailer park?
CASEY: Oh yeah. He and his wife probably always will. Ramon’s a great earner for those three little girls of his. He loves his women more than he loves his life.
We watch Casey’s Duster drive through arun down trailer park and looking ahead see that the road ends at a very nice double wide trailer- new- on a clean acre of property.
AMY: Ya know, with all the preaching you did to get me to clean up my act, I would think that even the little bit of pot that Ramon’s wife smokes would bother you.
CASEY: (eyeing AMY cautiously) You don’t mean to tell me that your shooting up a baggie of heroin is the same thing as her puffing on a joint- do you?
AMY: (strokes CASEY’s chest) No… I don’t Casey. But, thanks for helping me out any way. (the car stops)
CASEY: (looking in AMY’s eyes deeply) Listen, Amy. You and I get together ever few weeks, maybe a month or two and we have some the hottest sex that I could ever imagine. Nobody can burn down a house the way that we can. And if any man on earth ever threatened to pluck on hair from top of you gorgeous head, the puddles of blood would be mixed with his and mine before he ever lifted a hand to do it. I care about you like no other woman I know and you know more about me than any other woman save my ex-wife and she hardly knows me at all today.
AMY: So what are you saying, Casey?
CASEY: Between you being who you are, and me being who I am. The relationship we do have is a pretty great thing, Amy. Whenever you get close to some other guy… don’t I always bow out and let you get the fire burning?
AMY: Yes, Casey. You have.
CASEY: Then let’s not ruin a good thing until we need to. I’m not exactly looking to settle down and I don’t think you are either, but we can still have some fun because we care about each other. And you know that I couldn’t care about you if you were using that shit in your arms again. I just couldn’t.
AMY: (builds to an impish smile) Well then? Lets go have some fun!!! (and she scrambles from the car and in through the front door.
After CASEY closes and locks the door he looks through the window and notices a late model black Lincoln driving slowly around the cul-de-sac in front of his home. He turns and AMY attacks him. LOVE making til dawn with an insistent condom. They rise with daylight and CASEY drives AMY home. As she leaves the car and CASEY watches her walk (nice butt) admiringly, she turns and come s back to the driver’s side. A long languorous kiss and a thoughtful look evokes-
AMY: I guess that my being at Danny’s was a pretty big surprise for you last night, huh?
CASEY: (a pause to estimate AMY’s odd actions) I’d have to say I’m curious now girlfriend. So what’s the deal?
AMY: (looking at the ground) My overbearing and well to do loving mater has decided that I need a vacation, so she’s taking me with her to Hawaii tomorrow. We should be back in six days.
CASEY: So you figured to have a good time before Mommy dearest had you under lock and key?
AMY: Partly, but you know those two guys that brought me to the party?
CASEY: You mean UGLY and his dumber nephew.
AMY: Yeah. I know you make it a pretty regular habit of taking good care of yourself, Casey, but I want you to be extra careful. I think that guy is a lot more dangerous than he looks and I want to see you when I get back.
Amy leans into the car for an even longer sexier kiss and then stands up straight, fixes her blouse and walks into her house.
CASEY: Thank you.
Scene changes to CASEY’s house and a cup of coffee. Casey fixes some beans and heads to the bedroom. We see the mess from Hurricane Amy. CASEY opens the back closet and there is a super computer on the home scale. He boots it up, then walk to his front door and inspects over the doorway. There is a label on the camera that’s says HICCUP. CASEY returns to the computer and the screen says “Hidden In Closet Computer for Unusual Purposes. He point and clicks on a camera icon and we see the drive in front of the house. Above the computer screen is a diploma from the Community College of the Air Force in Computer Sciences. The screen shows play controls and CASEY enages the REVERSE arrow until he gets to the black LINCOLN still. He CUTS and PASTES to ENHANCE to “voila” show the nephew of th DANIEL’s UGLY visitor.
CASEY: Hmmm.
Camera pulls away from CASEY head shot to room overhead to Doublewide overhead and up and up slow turn from Florida around the circumference of Earth. Past the Moon, zip by the other side of Mars and through a space cloud. Come in from deep away towards obviously Saturn, over Titan, past a wrecked space station, heading into a new gleaming white and silver mega-station and seeing the name Cassini Three emblazon upon the outside, We enter through a port and pass thousands of people busily commuting, working, transporting, and living amongst numerous SHUTTLE bays and enter another corridor to stop and pass through a dark steel doorway with name “Marie Cherillo” engraved upon it.
