Slowly the sun with its power overcame the thin line of protection as it gradually warmed the frosted earth. Mysteriously the trees were all clean, only the branches showed some of their small stubs. With the chill of winter returning, our picture was again complete.
With the bright morning rays piercing through, it was getting lighter near the horizon. No other forces generated any movement of nature. This clear crisp morning became very much a picture perfect frame of what winter had to offer.
Slowly the sun with its power overcame the thin line of protection as it gradually warmed the frosted earth. Birds circled and landed on the white ground leaving their fine imprints while they searched for some forage. All stayed quiet as the blue sky began to dominate the spacious opening.
Mysteriously the trees were all clean, only the branches showed some of their small stubs. They only showed where the leaves had been secured. Looking up through the highest branches a dark spot could barely be noticed. As the sun reached this very object, it began to move. This was a genuine part of nature’s exhibit. It became apparent that this was the resting spot for creatures of the night.
Not moving allowed the warming sun to enhance the human body. After awhile the morning sun reached its peak. With that the resting spot of nature gave way for another beginning, while that same warming glow slowly completed its semi-circle of heat generation. Spacious white clouds started chasing that ever increasing ball of fire. Those rays of life shined brightly, releasing its immense power. At the same time the blue in the sky gained the volume of white.
Off in the distance the frosty rolling terrain appeared scraped clean. In the background black trees mixed in between those scattered evergreens. The fine wind blown snow produced its own design of purpose and became a part of this ever changing landscape.
Reaching into the desert of our mind required a temperament of the soul. Without that consciousness the sentiment of life had very little meaning. This unique palette called life covered all obstructions in the open fields. Nature covered all its primitiveness that mankind never could. These winds of change became what every artist desired. Creativity with talent added to the gift that nature offered. Accepting this continuous impact on our life the beauty of wilderness will endure.
Without the light blue sky above, that orange mass would then be followed by darkness. As the shadows increased they grew in size until night became real. With the chill of winter returning, our picture was again complete. Birds quickly found their resting perch in the massive ball of darkness.
That pure white covering succumbed to the ancient reflection of our majestic non-heating yellow sphere of purpose. Slowly the lights of mankind dominated the unlimited countryside. A new type of glitter shrouded that short span of night. With this tenacity the element of time was hastily overlooked.
Lack of movement in our busy society allowed acceptance and yet settling down for the night never was easy. Peace and joy for one night had become a world goal. Gradually the lights of mankind continued to spread out, until the lamp polls of yellow and orange dominated the empty streets and highways.
Finally all the activity began slowing and then stopped. There always remained one soul that hovered in the shadows of life. Ordinarily darkness accepted its own as this oversized blanket tried to maintain peace for all. This wintry scene became king for another night, just like the sun had ruled the day.
A few remaining birds rushed by and tried to find cover. When there was nothing convenient, each found space in this finite element of nature. It became apparent that mankind had accepted both spectrums, and with it came the end of another glorious winter day.
