Once there was this young couple,
Cookie and Nick who were so
deeply in love.
Their story reminded me so much
of Romeo and Juilet.

Their love was forbidden by
their families...
for there was a great age
difference.
Cookie age 12, and Nick 19.
~*~
They were forced to keep their
love hidden.
Each night they would meet at
their own little hiding place.
Oh how they resented their
families, for not accepting
their love for each other.
~*~
Yet, no one could ever separate
the two, their love was much
too powerful.
They began to grow so restless,
Feeling like tigers locked
in a cage.
~*~
One cold night in December,
Nick and Cookie met as their
usual hiding place.
When they were discovered by
Cookie's mother..
Oh how the mother was in such a rage.
~*~
She threatened to have Nick arrested.
With tears Cookie vowed to her mother,
"she would never see Nick again,"
"Providing she would not have him arrested."
The mother agreeded to accept Cookie's offer.
~*~
So brokenhearted, Cookie tried
her best to keep her promise.
Only she began to sink into
such a deep depression.
Days would turn into weeks,
since she had seen Nick
Cookie cried night and day.
~*~
One day while Cookie was on her way
to school, she ran into Nick.
They held each other and cried.
They decided to go to their
hiding place.
~*~
They sat there holding each other,
while talking and crying..
They decided that they could not
live their lives without
each other any longer.
~*~
So they made a pact to each other.
That since they could not be together
in life,they would be together in death.
~*~
Nick and Cookie went to a nearby
pharmacy and purchased a couple
bottles of sleeping pills.
They both began to have such a
feeling of peace and joy.
~*~
They returned back to their
hiding place.
Nick and Cookie began to
take the pills, washing it down
with soda.
They held each other,
as they both peacefully fell
into such a deep asleep.
~*~
After a certain amount of time,
Cookie woke up in Nick's arms.
She tried to awaken Nick,
Only he would not wake up.
Franticaly, Cookie ran for help.
~*~
Cookie waited for the ems to arrive.
Holding Nick in her arms,
not understanding how this
all happened.
For she was not suppose to awaken.
~*~
Finally ems arrived,
Cookie explained everything
to them.
Hoping that the ems would
be able to revive Nick.
No such luck, "Nick was pronounced dead."
~*~
So many years passed by,
Cookie continued to blame herself
for the tragic death of Nick.
Feeling so guilty for surviving.
Until this very day, Cookie
continues to cry.
~*~
You see, the reason why I know
the story so well,
Is because I was the one who survived.

Hi Trixie,
Yes, this is quite like Romeo and Juliet, and such a tragic story. It also brings to mind an old song sung by Nat King Cole "Too Young"
It matters not the degree in which you love, if you feel it in your heart, then it's so.
This story is sad but great and emotive.
