I always judged Eve harshly until I took the time to learn about her. Here's what I discovered.
I truly believe Eve is a misunderstood and, perhaps, unappreciated woman in the Bible. Created to be Adam's helpmate, her name alone means "mother of all living". When God created the world in six days, Eve was the last "Creature" to be created. She was the youngest member living in the Garden of Eden. During her time in the Garden of Eden, Eve was not given her name until sin entered into the realm of things. Some rather heated discussions about Eve and what she stood for will always continue. However, when I sat down and really took a closer look at Eve, for me, she represents a number of "Firsts" and "Onlys." Eve, was the first woman .... to have experienced every emotion or situation known to man. (In this case,woman). to be deceived in life. (She allowed herself to challenge God's authority). to disobey God. (Eviction from the Garden of Eden, was the result of being disobedient). to experience labor pains of childbirth. (Another result of being disobedient). to have the distinction of being the first parent in life. to have to dealt with the murder and death of a child. to have been the mother of the first murderer. to have experienced grief that a parent feels when tragedy hits. to have experienced joy (husband, children, and relationship with God). to be the beginning of Christ's legacy. Then I collected what I thought to be Eve's "Onlys": Eve is the only woman.... to get her beginnings from a man. (God took her from Adam's rib.) who has carried the blame for the downfall of man, opening up the door to sin, sorrow and suffering. to have the complete love and attention from her husband. to have direct fellowship with God. to whom the serpent had words with. On further consideration of Eve, I wrap up my summations by stating Eve is the First and Only Woman who had the pleasure of Living in the Garden of Eden. Eve truly was a magnificent woman and there clearly was no one like in her the Bible. Eve demonstrated strength and courage as there were no rules or role models for her to follow. She learned by trial and error and by taking a risk.
An interesting perspective, clear and concise. I think I disagree with Rogwer Ochs review a bit; Eve wasn't "framed", but it was certainly "entrapment". Great write.

This is a wonderful write, Celeste. I enjoyed every word, and you know what, I actually agree with you. Thanks for sharing such a beautifully written, yet short piece. It was short, but sweet. Awesome job, my friend.
Well, going by the Bible, Eve had to have the firsts 'cos she was the first--woman, I mean--Anyway, she's such a cliched character--probably thought up by a man--
When two men hit the reset button and decide to go out looking for the good in the world, they not only find it but also a lot more.
