As the warm air brushed against my skin
On that calm summer night
The moonlight shined down on the pier
And his smile was all I could see
There he stood
A tall, brown-skinned man
Whose appearance represented strength and power
I walked over to him because
I couldn't pass up this opportunity
I couldn't let something that beautiful slip away
We had a very stimulating conversation
About family, life, love, and fun
And everything else under the sun
He was very intelligent
I thought he was sent from the heavens above
Wow, could this be love?
We took a long walk in the park
As the moonlight sparkled in the night
The fact that it was getting dark slipped my mind
I just prayed that this night would never end
I fell in love with his personality
Then again, everyone is nice in the beginning
But as the time passed us by my affections he was winning
He would say the corniest things out his mouth
And smiled the most beautiful smile
I was not ready to leave his side so
I decided to stay out for a little while longer
I could really see myself marrying a guy like him
He had all the qualities that I looked for in a man
I will do anything I can
To make him mine
As the night went on my feelings grew strong
I've never seen a man so beautiful
I gazed into his soft brown eyes and listened to the smooth sound of his voice
Wow, his voice
So sensual
Deep and melodious
He was from the Caribbean so he had an accent
And when he would speak it was like a tenor saxophone
Playing beautiful music on top of a bass and snare
Yeah, like jazz
He moves closer
He presses his soft lips against mine
His lips reminded me of what I imagined clouds to feel like as a child
As we kiss our souls connect
I felt so close to him as if we've known each other before tonight
At that moment, he and I were the only two people on earth
I didn't believe in soul mates until now
We stayed out so late that we saw the sunrise again
I didn't remember falling asleep in his arms
But when I opened my eyes all I saw was that beautiful face
I have found him
They say that there's a person out there for everyone
That one person who is suppose to compliment your life
Well, I have found him
And though I could not imagine walking away from the comfort of his caress, I knew I had to go
What an amazing night we shared
