"Hey, look at what I found!" 

Jihan had been digging in that spot for reasons that only a nine-year-old boy could know.  Taletha, his older sister, reluctantly stopped what she was doing to see what had excited her little brother so much.  She stood over the foot deep hole and peered down at something unknown.  She got down on her knees and carefully touched it feeling the cold smoothness of the strange object.  A wave of fear suddenly washed over her and she stood up, grabbed Jihan by the hand, and ran for home.

After telling her father, Emeritus, about the strange thing, he went to see for himself what his children had found.  Finding it easily, he took a quick look and then hurried off to report it to the local authorities.  He did not know what it was and thought that maybe it was not of this world.  He showed it to the main local man who in turn notified the national authorities who immediately quarantined the area not allowing anyone near enough to see anything.

All of the commotion, including armed guards, drew a rather large group of local onlookers, but the only thing they saw was a caravan of men with a variety of digging tools.  After three days of digging, they uncovered a huge being of unknown origin and then had to guard it until the scientist arrived from the capitol.

It was a full month later before they released an official statement:

We, at the Earth Science Foundation, have discovered the remains of a previously unknown creature.  We believe that if there were many of its kind in Earth's history, they would have ruled the world.  Due to the only distinctive markings on this creature, we have named it FORD.
