Many books that examine the issues of pro-abortion and pro-life do so from either a strictly clinical perspective or a plethora of personal opinions.

Lives Interrupted: The Unwanted Pregnancy Dilemma achieves a balance for both sides if the issue through research, documentation and a diverse collection of interviews. It is the writers hope that with this information any woman facing an unwanted pregnancy will have the full spectrum of information before she decides to terminate her pregnancy or to bring forth new life. Lives Interrupted is written to honor the mother and the voice of the unborn child in a style that is objective, compassionate and approachable.

An excerpt from the book:

"That life journey, however, was not without a multitude of complications. To begin with, the effects of my mother’s self-imposed remedy to induce a miscarriage may have been responsible for some of the learning disabilities and the succession of physical challenges that arose as I got older. When I began searching for my roots as an adult, two women who knew Kate when she was pregnant told me they had always worried that something was going to be wrong with me as a result of the binding. That — and the lack of regular prenatal care and check-ups — did not bode well for the delivery of a healthy baby.

And yet I survived.

Neither the doctors nor my adoptive parents were ever aware of my mother’s attempts to abort me, nor have any medical diagnoses either confirmed or denied a correlation between birth trauma and the medical problems which eventually labeled me as “handicapped.” Certainly my adoptive parents never treated me as if I were different from anyone else, and yet they bore a tremendous financial burden providing for my

special needs. By constantly reinforcing the message that my value is not defined by my limitations but, rather, enriched by them, they encouraged me to work harder and harder to achieve my goals."

Do you have a story to relate to us about unwanted pregnancy? I don't see any story here, only a pitch for your book.

I'm working on a story to post here along with many others that I've posted. It's not in any of the books that I've published.
