The warmth of the sun was certainly no indicator of the waning day and the coolness of the breeze signaled that the end of Summer was coming, and with knowing that, she sadly walked along the edge of the beach.

She was thinking this Summer would have given her something different.She moves along, the waves gently break about her,her footprints washing away..Skimming the water's edge, she felt cheated..this Summer she wanted to meet The guy she felt was her destiny to see..the one she dreamed about so often. The cool water is tickling her toes, and she replaces the wide brimmed straw hat, to hide her soft freckled skin, from the strong sun's rays.. Dani is thinking how lonely she feels deep inside, watching as the tide washes out again..

She notices the figure of a gentleman walking towards her. She shrugs and looks at the shells around her.She giggles looking down at her stomach, acknowledging her tanned toned body with her recent piercing, and belly chain. She looks over her shoulder,He's just taking a last swim or walk on the beach she thought. Turning away, towards the sun, her hat flies off,and her red hair is licked by the gentle salt sprays of the ocean. She runs to catch the hat, and notices the hem of her skirt has dipped into the chilly water..

As Dani reaches for her skirt and hat, she notices the footprints alongside her own.. Looking up, she finds it is the long haired hot looking guy, whom she had noticed before..

"I'm sorry..didn't mean to startle you," he says, smiling at her. "Found your hat here," and returns it to her..

"Well, I was kinda lost in my thoughts, and taking in the last rays of Summer, when I noticed your hat flying like it was Gone with the Wind!" said Cole. Dani grinned,and nodding, replied "Thank you for that."

She laughed embarrassed..and blushed slightly, knowing his full gaze was upon her.

"I've noticed you walking down here a lot this past week, are you planning to stay? Or are you just a recurring vision I've been having?"

Cole was teasing.He looks into her green eyes. "I've been thinkin that you were just someone so lovely, you couldn't be lost, so it was my imagination..I had to come and see for myself.."

Danielle was smiling now, realizing his humor.He continued," I know that it sounds funny, but I've had dreams one day,I'd meet someone on the beach,on very much a day like today.." "You're not a mermaid are you?" He inquires half smiling.. "Like in my favorite movie,"Splash"?"

"Ha haha. Hmm Nope." She blushed deeper... Is this guy for real, She smiled and wondering, she squinted up looking at him for the first time. " Really? Watching me huh? That doesn't sound impressive..I didn't know that I had a secret admirer.."

Her voice trailed lower and she grinned, as she stared and held his gaze. She was nervous.Noticing his features for the very first time. His eyes were smiling back, and hazel,maybe blue she thought..his features seemed and soft and gentle.He was taller than she, perhaps 5'10, with blonde wavy hair down to his neck.His physique was strong and athletic, with nicely built shoulders. She glimpsed part of a tattoo on his exposed left shoulder. He was awesome Dani thought to herself.

"I apologize, I really didn't mean to scare you,or nothing like that..but I brought this for you, on the chance that we might meet today."

He hands her two beautiful coral roses,entwined with babys breath. Dani was speechless and stared, peach roses were her favorite flower. "It's not that I doubted myself, its just that you seemed alone, and I wanted so much to say something the other day, but then you left so quickly.."
He continued.. "I'm kinda embarassed, as I don't do this with ladies, but I didn't want to pass this chance to talk with you, and perhaps ask you to dinner, tonight if you have no plans. "

She was speechless. Inside her stomach is flip flopping..What did he say? Flowers? Inside she was smiling and no amount of self control was going to hide her excitement. Act cool, act really, really, cool she reminded herself.

"I'm, I'm uh lost for words..No one has Surprised me like this before.." She explained more surprised than anything.. Dani continued... " I thought you were just taking a last shot of Summer Sun, or a walk..I..I had no idea you saw Me... Oh the roses are so delicate and beautiful..thank you .. Are you sure we haven't spoken before? That you would know these are my favorite?" She looked up, quite shocked and trying to hold her emotions in . "

No, Nooo... Just a lucky guess on my part. The pleasure is mine..rest assured my intentions are honorable, and all I wish is to see you smile, and perhaps walk with you here. For now, I would be happy just getting to know you."

He then flashed her that killer smile, and as she smiled back, she flipped her hair. And with that, he kissed her cheek ever so softly. She leaned into him, the wind pushing her some,and she whispered, "My name is Dani. Thank you.You have returned more than just my smile."

And together they walked into the sun, her hat flew off into the waters edge and neither one noticed.. So lost were they in each other, talking as the sun began to set, casting the most beautiful shadows of golden russet upon them, as they continued their way,hand in hand. Stopping here and there to kiss and laugh in the wind. It seemed the ocean roared and the wind signaled their approval.

Cole glided his hand along her back and couldn't believe it. He mentally congratulated himself on how lucky this chance meeting turned out to be, as they had much in common. He felt very tempted to tell her more about his work and his life, but didn't want to scare her off. Besides, he thought, she has the most incredible voice, with a kind of giggle, at the end of her sentences. It was the cutest thing he noticed about her,besides her big green eyes. Cooler than mountain air, he felt he could just get lost in them for hours at a time.

"Well, Dani, I just noticed we lost your hat, in the wind, and well, its nowhere to be seen, I'm afraid," he said looking around at the empty beach.

"That's okay Cole. I'll get another one, when I return to town. Gosh would you look at the time!"SHe said, looking at her watch.

"So now, you are Cinderella,and turn into a pumpkin at 8pm?" he grinned down at her.

"Ha hahaha,err No! I just lost track of time,and didn't realize it. Its so warm and lovely here, I am thinking about moving to Angel Falls. That way, I would have mountains and the beach nearby. That's why I have been frequenting this beach, and the area. I'd really like to see more, if you are up to it tonight?"

"Dani, that's great.We can leave now and enjoy an intimate Dinner.If that suits you, then I can show you some favorite places. Do you like Italian food? I know the greatest little restaurant, and it's private and the food is fantastic. Well, I know two Chefs who work there, and one is my cousin," he smiled again, revealing a dimpled chin.

Dani smiled,and her whole face lit up. " That sounds great! Would it be this little place I saw nestled on the other side,over looking the Marina?"

"Yes, How'd you guess? Its called Bamonte's. They have the best scungili in town!. Shall we head over that way? Won't take long to get there in my Jeep."

Danielle nodded her agreement. Wow she thought, the end of Summer, is turning out to be the new beginning of something else. She was excited and looking forward to getting to know Cole a little better. She just couldn't stop smiling! The thought of a new boyfriend, suddenly made this new town a much friendlier place.
