My fantasy of meeting the great Nikola Tesla, that I was born 19 years too late to meet!
I was running down the road toward Long Island's historical Wardenclyffe Tower, right before dynamite after dynamite blast finally toasted it. Thomas Edison, and the fact that Tesla was so far ahead of his time, as he was well aware, were among the driving the driving forces leading up to this terrible scene that set mankind back at least a hundred years. In Dreaming of Telsa, Tesla himself has a dream, where JP Morgan, Stephen Hawking and GuglielmoMarconi were standing nearby saying to a large crowd, "Edison is such a great man!" I got there just in time and said, "Edison?...Tesla is the man you need to be thanking." Those men, that included some of the world's most acclaimed inventors, scientists, scholars and intellectual property thieves of all time, turned to leer at me wildly, and shout in response to my statement, "Tesla was a crank, a weirdo, and a madman!"
Perhaps there was something ominous that Morgan sensed, that the great financier had nightmares about, like Bob Cratchit, in Dicken's classic, A Christmas Carol. J.P. Morgan's name endures to this day, whereas Telsa's is largely forgotten. Was there more than a financial reason to end Tesla'a dream? The future of mankind itself was on the brink of a magical instance of freedom, where we might never have to want for energy again. Perhaps what happened next in the dream was a clue.
Awakened, from a dream he vainly tried to go back to sleep, but the cheering crowd outside caused Tesla to sit up in bed, Not sure if he was really awake, he quickly bolted out the door of his laboratory quarters, still dressed in his fine clothes from the fund raising soirée the night before. Always in need of money according to his great-nephew William Terbo, Telsa was barely awake before he disappeared into a growing cloud of nervous particles. Leading him path-like, coming straight out of his water faucet, an electric green plasma was queerly serenly painting a trail through the air for him to follow. It led him outside, where was lifted out of his body it seemed, raised up on a beam of light into a blue-glowing hovering disc above. It all was like a dream to Telsa, a very special deja-vu experience indeed!
The growing crowd of onlookers stood clammering for the dynamite till at last right before the blast should have occured, out of thin air a great shimmering flying saucer appeared and landed nearby. All eyes were fixed upon the door as it opened, and a thousand orange-eyed pigeons flew out in all directions. They picked up Edison, Morgan, Hawking and Marconi, and in a single-minded fashion took off skyward circling the saucer over and over as their surprised passengers' faces showed a mixture of astonishment and bewilderment.
The crowd cheered when out of the highly polished disk, a triumphant Nikola Tesla stepped out. He strode up to me dressed magnificently, with dark aviator glasses and a smart looking hat on his head, that seemed to accentuate his high cheek bones and dark wavy hair. His tall frame was youthful and intact, as he waved his arms toward the pigeons. They flew in tight spiraling formations, soaring higher and higher until Nikola raised his arms over his head and clapped his hands loudly. A green mist appeared around the pigeons, as they towed the now terrified men onward toward a great spinning vortex throbbing in the midst of it. Tesla intensely watched as the pigeons and men disappeared into the pulsating maelstrom. Out of his pocket he pulled two metal rods of arms length. He cracked them together in the direction of the dimensional divide that opened overhead like a window into another world. Great orbs of lightning blazed forth, leaping off of the rods toward the mysterious storm brewing overhead. There was a brilliant green flash of light as the ball lightning was quickly drawn into the eye of the electrical hurricane, temporarily blinding the crowd. Amazingly the storm, flying men and pigeons were all now gone by-the-time the visions had cleared.
A sweet smell of ozone wafted through the air across the crowd, seeming to refresh them. Looking at the sky and then at the crowd, which spontaneously broke into an appreciative applause, Tesla the great inventor, scientist and genius smiled a knowing smile. He then re-entered the saucer appearing to radiate a long suppressed joy, as tears streamed down his face. The door closed and echoed bell-like, as the silvery craft took off like a blue-streak heavenward, disappearing as mysteriously as it came. Out the sky rained down a ticker-tape of golden leaves. Emblazoned on each one was a message for the people, who now appeared child-like as they scurried to pick them all up. "Peace on Earth" was all it said.

Hawking and others are included here because they are the antithesis of the spirit in which Tesla lived. He was so much more, and I have a personal reason as far as Hawking is concerned. I will be happy to share if you write me roadrunner dot jones at gmail dot com
Happy futures to you! Pigeons never claim to be friends but make very good pigeons. Telsa was a pigeon to many including Edison who could have easily been a great benefactor to mankind with good business sense and Nikola Tesla under his wing, but his sense of business and greed left poor Tesla with empty pockets and Edison's empty humor and promise to boot.
Why are you including Steven Hawking in this article? Also the Wardenclyffe Tower was demolished with dynamite not a wrecking ball. Nikola Tesla was a great man, unfortunately he was not a great businessman, but Edison was. In addition, Tesla was not the first to come up with alternating current. However, his generators and system to distribute power over long distances was superior.
My eyes just about watered when reading that. An awesome dream. Thanks for the read, Starman. :-)

Hey Starman..
Many had dreams like this...from smoking weed! LOL
Your colorful well written tale entertained me. I read it twice to be sure I had the same thought as the first read. Not to sure about Tesla...so I will have to goggle him!
