The abysmal cruelty that we inflict on man’s best friend these days now never seems to end. But thankfully for Newbee, he is now getting a much needed second chance at life.
His family, like so many other families in this abysmal economy sadly lost their home to foreclosure. But when they moved away from their abandoned residence, they very cruelly left him in their garage to fend for himself. Newbee now spent several months in this garage, starving and all alone, never understanding what he had done wrong to deserve such abysmal treatment from his own family.
Luckily, he was found in the nick of time and rushed to an animal hospital where he was immediately given I.V. fluids for his severe dehydration and starvation. He had already lost half of his body weight, and now, he was extremely weak and near death.
But thankfully today, ‘Newbee’ is now on the road to recovery at a marvelous foster home. And he is truly a very grateful and extremely affectionate dog. In fact, Newbee has now become somewhat of a canine celebrity in our area, and a very worthy ‘Spokesdog’ for abandoned pets everywhere.
We took him to a recent fund raising event for one of our area’s animal rescue organizations, and he was the star of the night. People stood in line to meet this marvelous abandoned dog, and he helped raise some much needed funds to assist other abandoned orphans like himself.
And Newbee loved every minute of it. After being alone for so long in that abysmal garage, he loved all of the attention that he was now getting, all of the gentle pets and hugs that he was now receiving, and of course, all of the numerous canine treats that were presented to him all evening long.
Many of us have now grown very fond of Spokesdog Newbee, and he now reminds us every day just why we are involved in pet rescue efforts.

Every one of your stories and all the others like them, move me to tears. I simply cannot understand why those that call themselves 'human' would treat any other living thing so badly, let alone one that is a member of their own family. It is quite beyond me and, were it not for the generous hearts that do all this wonderful rescue work, I would be ashamed to be a part of our race.

I still find it appalling how anyone could
just leave any animal to fend for themselves...
at least have a heart if you cannot afford them
to at least take them to a shelter...
