It's a slippery slope we are on following the course of dictatorships in the past. First, attack intellectuals and centers of learning. Second, scapegoat undesirables and attempt to eliminate them one way or another. Third, create a police state using military forces. Fourth, nationalize businesses and industries under the guise of deregulation. Fifth, consolidate the wealth of the nation among favored allies. Sixth, demand absolute loyalty. Punish those that are disloyal. Seventh, nationalize the free press.
Where has this happened before? When will the loyalists become disillusioned from unkempt promises and lies?
