The approaching holiday season, as viewed by someone who could very well be related to the Grinch...
I got the idea for this story from the stuffed Grinch that my twin sister won in a game; the Grinch is sitting beside me here at the library, and the following story came to mind. Enjoy!
This story is totally of my imagination. I actually LOVE Christmas, although a few of my recent writes may make you think otherwise; but I was having a bad spell, and I was being quite grinchy in nature. But I am over my "grinchiness", and I am looking forward to Christmas (EXCEPT for WORKING ON CHRISTMAS, like I did last year; that was one of the main reasons why I was so mad in the first place! HOPEFULLY, I'll GET Christmas Day off and not HAVE to work; that would be FINE with me!)!
Oh, for PETE'S sake...
Here it is, not even Thanksgiving, and ALREADY I am starting to see SIGNS, signs that suggest that Christmas is just around the corner.
CHRISTMAS. BAH! BAH HUMBUG! Don't you know I HATE Christmas?? I always have, and I hate it even more now that the Grinch of Dr. Seuss fame has gone "soft" and the son of a biscuit now celebrates Christmas, too, just like all the other buffoons!
The Grinch was my role-model. I mean, he was possibly the meanest, NASTIEST, surliest son of a b**** I have ever heard of, and every year, I delighted in hearing of his antics in trying to stop Christmas from happening; but in the end, it turns out that HE gets the Christmas spirit, and all of a sudden, he isn't so "Grinchy" any more!
Oh, Grinchy, how COULD YOU??
How do I know of the "signs" of the approaching hollday season? Well, for one thing, I am starting to see Christmas decorations being put out at the stores and Christmas trees are quickly starting to appear at nurseries and stuff, and I also see advertisements hawking Christmas music or toys; and the BAD thing is, it is ONLY November; it hasn't been Thanksgiving yet, and ALREADY they are shoving CHRISTMAS down my throat! GAWWWD!! I am already so SICK of Christmas I can just PUKE up my eggnog!
I have always despised Christmas because everyone is so cheerful, or everyone is too busy shopping, and they have shoved out the TRUE reason aside; and Christmas,as a whole, has become nothing but one giant, commercialized FIASCO! It's PATHETIC! I also hate Christmas because the Grinch went soft, and now I have nobody to look up to for a role model. Even old Scroogie went Christmas on me, and he was about as bad as the Grinch! It seems that Christmas tends to bring out the best (or even the WORST) in people; but as for me, I am NOT buying it! Christmas can go jump in the lake, as far as I am concerned because I am NOT celebrating it! PERIOD!
As long as I can sleep right THROUGH Christmas or the New Year, then I'll be happy! I want NO part in all this Christmas cheer! NONE!!!
Just sign me "The Grinch Wannabe" (The OLD Grinch, NOT the NICE Grinch of nowadays).
