She knew that if Jay got her away from here he would never let her live, but if she tried to fight him, Jay would kill her right here.
“If you don’t do like I tell you, you won’t live to regret it.” The words sent chills down Abby’s spine. She had seen Jay following her out to her car after her shift, and had tried to get to her car before he caught up with her, but Abby had not been fast enough. While she as unlocking the door he had come up from behind, and pinned her to the car. “Get in the car, and slide over.” Jay commanded harshly. Abby fumbled to get the key in the lock, and open the door, not sure of her next move, She knew that if Jay got her away from here he would never let her live, but if she tried to fight him, Jay would kill her right here. Even as she obeyed Jay’s commands, Abby wondered if she was sealing her own fate by not putting up a fight.Abby wasn’t surprised when Jay directed her to drive out of town. She knew he was taking her as far away as he could get. They drove for hours, only silence to fill the time. Abby couldn’t remember the last time she had seen a house. Her thought began to drift toward Jay’s plans for her. Just thinking about it sent chills down her spine. When Jay commanded her to pull the car over, Abby was jolted out of her thoughts. Whatever plans he had were about to be carried out. As Jay forced Abby out of the car, and down a steep hill, her mind reeled, she had to do something or Abby was going to die right here, at the bottom of this hill, beside the road. When Jay suddenly slipped on the rocky slope. Struggling every step, Abby scrambled up the incline to the car. She could hear Jay struggling and cursing behind her, but she kept climbing. As she was fumbling to get the key in the lock on the car door, Jay scrambled up over the edge, and rushed toward her.Abby tried to run, but Jay got his hands on her before she got very far. Jay dragged her to the back of the car, kicking and screaming. Holding her tightly, he unlocked the trunk, and Abby was thrown inside. As he shut the trunk, Abby tried to block his attempt. Jay shut the trunk, with Abby’s arm lodged in between. Abby listened intently, expecting to hear Jay start the car, but instead she heard another car approach. Abby listened to the muffled voices outside, Jay was telling someone his car had broken down, asking if they could take him to a gas station, where he could call some to come and get him. Abby began kicking and screaming, trying to get the driver’s attention. When she stopped to listen again, she heard a car driving away, and wondered if she had been heard at all.
