A cat named "Cajun" shares her story. She was previously featured in one of my "A Furry Angel" series.
This cat is fictional, but in real life, I actually DID have a Maine Coon cat named "Cajun"! Unfortunately, though, I had to give her away as I was moving to Texas, to a place that did NOT allow pets. I cried like I never cried before when I had to say goodbye to my beloved cat; I shall never forget her! >tears< (Oh, "Cajun", I still miss you, sweetie...I shall NEVER forget you!)
Meow!
My name is "Cajun", and I am a gorgeous little Maine Coon Cat. I am a couple of years old. I live in Nashville, Tennessee, with my Human Girl, Ronee' Le-Anne, who is now 11 years old.
I am very pretty, if I do say so myself. Hey, my Human Girl is always telling me how pretty and adorable I am, so I MUST be that! I have big, green-yellow eyes that miss very little, long, soft fur that is tortie-patterned (but I do have four white paws and a white belly and chest, and some white on my face), a very long, bushy tail that I can wrap around myself lest I get cold, and long, long whiskers that help me to get around better, especially at night. (My whiskers keep me from bumping into things, and they are very sensitive.) I am a very good Cat, and I don't cause any trouble for my Human Girl (or for anyone else, for that matter!). All I do is sleep, eat, meow, and go to the Kitty Potty if I need to relieve myself. I also purr, and I also play and act adorable; and I love making People laugh with my charming antics and Cattitude! (I am usually a very loving Cat, but get me mad in any way, and I WILL make my displeasures known, be it by a Hiss, a Spit, or a low-throated Growl! I also may swipe at you with my tiny Kittycat claws; and you WOULDN'T like that: my Claws are SHARP! My Claws are Lethal Weapons, and I WILL use them if I see fit!!)
Now, I do NOT use my Claws on my Human Family (although I DID once when Ronee'--that's my Human's name--stepped on my Tail with her Walking Stick! [She called her Walking Stick a Crutch.] I clawed her arm pretty good, and she, of course, cried; and I did, too, because I hurt her, and I felt bad; but what was I supposed TO do when she did that? LAUGH with JOY?? No, I don't even THINK so! For one thing, it hurt too bad, and I was afraid she had busted my Tail!), but if a kid (say a Strange Human Kid I have never seen before or don't know that well) picks on me for any reason or anyone annoys me by trying to swipe my Toys or my Dish, or something of THAT nature, I WILL voice my Displeasure! I do NOT like People, especially Human Children, picking on me! Why don't their Human Parents teach them HOW to treat an Animal like myself? I am a CAT, for God's sake; I am NOT a Throw Toy or a Rag or a Piece of Human Clothing to be tossed around!!
Now, I LOVE my Human Girl, Ronee'; she takes very good care of me, and she plays with me, strokes my fur and makes me purr, and she brushes me a couple times a week, too, so I am always looking my best. I love to play with her because she has such a cute giggle, and when she laughs, I laugh along with her! Cats aren't usually known for laughing, but I DO laugh ONCE in a while; and my Human can tell you that I DO laugh! She is NOT lying!! HONEST!! She is fun to sleep with at night because when she gets into her bed, I can then snuggle right next to her legs or her side, and I then turn on my Purr Machine; and pretty soon, we both drift off to Dreamland; and when we wake up the next day, we are usually well rested (at least, I am; sometimes, my Human Girl wakes up in the middle of the night because her Arthritis is acting up again, and she is in a lot of pain. Or she may have some problems with her Breathing; but it's NOT me who causes THAT! Just thought I would set the record straight; she is no longer Allergic to Cats, so this is why she can have me. Thank goodness for small Favors, hunh??). She has problems with her Allergies (but not NEARLY as bad as she used to; still, she DOES have allergies that can make her sick if she's not careful, which she IS!), and she also has problems with her walking or getting around. She has something called Arthritis, which makes her Joints hurt; and this is why she uses Forearm Crutches and wears Leg Braces on her legs. She sometimes uses a chair with wheels, too, especially if she is in a lot of pain, more than usual.
Well, that is my story. I will write more later when I think of some more juicy Gossip about my Human Girl or her Family that I can possibly dish up. But that is the trouble with my Human Girl: she is TOO good; there is NOT a BAD bone in her little body! Oh, she gets mischevious at times towards HER Human Family, but to me? NEVER! She treats me like an Angel, and as a Cat, I can REALLY appreciate THAT! There is NOTHING worse to me than a Human Child who is all out of control or a Human Child who finds amusement in Abusing poor little Kittycats like me! Such things makes me want to choke up a Hairball or two! Or possibly even THREE!
~Love, "Cajun".
P.S.: I STILL don't know WHY my Human Child named ME "Cajun"! But that is my name, so I might as well get used to it!
Maybe it's because SHE happens to be a HUMAN Cajun, or loves to eat Cajun food?? I don't know....LOL

Thank you for sharing this delightful tale; it is well-written, as always, and gives a nice glimpse at life from an animal companion's perspective. (Besides, as partial as I am to Ronee', I'd be more so with her four-legged friends.)
Thanks also for the dedication; that is a touching honor.
This short story reminds me of my Fluffy, who died in 1996. He was a Maine Coon cat. He had a white belly, big white paws, and white nose. His fur was long, and he had a bushy tail. He was a real sweet heart. I still miss him. Thank you for sharing this story.
Love, Patty
