Hi! Thad Shane Riechter here again. I am still in Utah with my Uncle Eddie as I write this. I haven't been able to sleep all that much ever since I saw that Creature when I was first here; I was getting firewood for the fireplace for my uncle's cabin when I saw this...THING...nosing around in the yard; and from the looks of it, it looked like a big, shaggy-haired monkey that had to be at least 8 feet or taller. He was very big, and he stunk like rotting garbage. When he looked my way and then started coming towards me, I thought I was done for, but then he left as quickly as he came; but not before he let out a spine-chilling scream that still makes my blood run cold every time I think of it.
I haven't slept or eaten all that much, especially since the Encounter with this thing, and the next day, when I spotted huge footprints in the soft ground. I first thought I was imagining things, but I was NOT; I had HEARD and SAW the creature with my very own ears and eyes; and I haven't been able to get him out of my mind! I have tried to tell my parents back home in Virginia about this thing, and also my Uncle Eddie; but they think I am crazy; and they tell me that I am only imagining things, that it was probably only a grizzly bear or something; but I tell you man...what I saw and heard was NO bear! I have seen bears before, and this thing was NO bear; it was way bigger than any bear I have ever seen! And it looked more like a GORILLA than a bear!
I want to go home back to Virginia; I have had the creepy crawlies ever since I first saw this creature, and no matter who I tell, they think I am looneytunes, and they tell me I am only a kid with an overactive imagination; but HOW can I imagine something that must have been 9' tall (or bigger), or a thing with shaggy hair and stunk like hell? I don't call that my Imagination! A NIGHTMARE is more like it! I have told the police and other important people what I have seen back at my Uncle Eddie's cabin, but all they do is shake their heads and look at me like I have horns sprouting from my head!
My Uncle Eddie is still pretty much laid up, but he IS starting to feel better; maybe that is why he has been so grouchy, especially if I try to tell him about the Creature I saw. He tells me that I am nothing but a goddamned liar, and to get over it; but the truth is, I CAN't "get over it"; what I saw was REAL, and I don't know what it is going to take to try to convince my uncles, my parents, or the law people that what I saw was NOT fake, that it was as real as life itself!
I will probably write more later after I get back home to Roanoke, Virginia; but I DO know what I plan on doing upon getting back: doing some research on Bigfoot or whatever the hell it was I saw; this thing has GOT to be real; otherwise, WHY would I still be shaken up over what I saw that day several weeks later?? You haven't heard the last from me; but all I CAN say is that whatever it was I saw certainly has changed my life; and now my life is no longer the same!

Thanks for the dedication and for sharing such a wonderful write with us! Those who have seen the unexplainable are rarely believed so this brings a reality to the story. Also once, one has seen, the unexplainable their lives are changed forever. Very creative and well written.
