Dear Miss Williams:
My name is Johnny, and I am Ronee' 's brother. Ronee' wrote to you, and I decided to do the same. I am the same age as Ronee'; but she is one day older. I am one day younger; I was born the day AFTER Christmas, and she was born the day OF Christmas, so that makes me younger by one day! LOL
Mommy told me about you, and I think it is great that you are taking in girls that are disabled; mommy and daddy have done the same thing too, but in OUR family, there are boys, too, not just girls! I hear you are getting another little girl from Africa. That is too cool; I hope you get her soon! What is her name, and how old is she? Where in Africa is she from? I have a little brother, Kwame', who is from Africa originally, but he is from Kenya. I also have an older sister, Lightning (in fact, Lightning is my OLDEST sister!), who was born there, too.
Anyway, to tell you a bit about myself, as I said, my name is Johnny, and I am eleven years old. I have blonde hair and blue eyes, and I wear glasses and hearing aids because I had meningitis when I was a baby, and it affected my vision and my hearing. I also have to tell you that I am in a wheelchair because I have muscular dystrophy, which is making my muscles go weak. I can walk some still now, but I get so tired so quickly, so I use the wheelchair a lot of the time; and when I DO walk, I use crutches. I am in the fifth grade at school, and I am in the "multiply handicapped class". I have learning disabilities, too, besides my physical stuff, and so I need a lot of help, as do my classmates. School used to be so hard for me, but now I get help, and I am doing so much better, which made my mother and daddy happy! For a while I was having a very hard time at school, and I was close to flunking, that is how bad my grades were! It was NOT fun!
How many girls do you have, Miss Williams? Are they all disabled? Most of the kids in my family are disabled, but not ALL are; and we get along with one another MOST of the time. Right now I am mad at my stupid brother, Roberto (he is 11, too, but he is older, by like five months; his birthday is in July, and mine's in December), because he sat on my remote control HUMMER and BROKE it! Now my HUMMER won't run, and the stupid thing is NOT cheap! (They have them at Wal*Marts, and they cost $99 to $100! I know; my daddy works at Wal*Marts, so I know these things and how much things cost there!) I got it for Christmas from my friend, Roberto Sormiento, and now MY stupid brother, Roberto, BROKE it, and now it doesn't work! I was SOOO mad when it happened! I wish he would THINK before he decides to plop his big butt on things that DON'T belong to him; and now because of HIS stupidity, MY HUMMER is broken!
I can hear mommy yelling at Roberto, and Roberto is throwing a duck fit; I can hear him screaming at her, and it is NOT nice to hear! My brother has Down's syndrome, and he doesn't understand that you don't sit on things that don't belong to you, and he doesn't know that you can't ride on toy cars like you can in REAL ones! Now my HUMMER is busted, and now I can't play with it! I am SOOOO mad at him right now!!
Anyway, Miss Williams, that is getting off the subject, but I had to tell someone about what happened because right now I am so upset it is all I can do to keep from CRYING!!
I was asking you if all your kids are disabled. Most of the kids in my family are, but we are still a good bunch of kids, and we get along MOST of the time (right now is NOT one of those times; I am mad at Roberto for bustin' up my HUMMER with his butt! Stupid kid SAT on it! Now it's BUSTED!)! We come from all over: me, I come from Germany, and I have brothers and sisters who were born in places like France, Japan, China, Africa, Mexico or South America, Canada, Vietnam, Korea, and in America, and we are all colors, ages, sizes, and shapes. We are a cool looking family, and I love my family very much. (Even Roberto, although right now I AM mad at him! GRRR!)
Where in California do you live? Do you live in San Francisco? I think San Francisco is cool; been there once, and I loved Fisherman's Wharf and the hills! But I was so scared that there would be an earthquack (Johnny meant earthquake); but thank God there wasn't any! Is it always sunny there; heard California is sunny a lot of the time! Do you have tornados there? Hope not; tornados are NO fun! (We had one several years ago here in Nashville, plus we had one last year, but thank God we made it through the tornados! But we don't get them NEARLY as bad as places like Texas or Oklahoma; I think they must have a tornado every day of the year! LOL)
Well, Miss Williams, I enjoyed writing to you; I hope you write me back, like you did my mommy and my sister, Ronee'. You sound like a really nice lady, and I would love to meet you and your girls; but I DO wish you had some BOYS in your family! Until I hear from you, take care, and God bless you!
